The seasonal rotation cycle of Call of Duty: Mobile being monthly, this April we celebrate the launch of Season 4 called Eternal Prison. This follows Season 3: Paranoia. It invites players to evolve on the Rebirth Island map, in DMZ: Recon and Battle Royale. As a bonus, it highlights a special collaboration allowing the integration of the kaiju Godzilla and Kong, the most impressive of apes. Let's take a look at the main new features.

Try to escape from the prison island

The star of this new season is undoubtedly Rebirth Island, a famous map inspired by the Zombies Alcatraz map introduced in Mob of the Dead from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It was the second map of Call of Duty: Warzone which also served as the first map for the Resurgence mode (launched with Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War). This time, you can deploy there in DMZ: Recon mode. After watching the opening cinematic added for the occasion, you just have to explore the fortress area to try to escape from this prison located on an island. Of course, the development team has reworked the map to adapt it to the mode in question, in addition to offering it a visual improvement thanks notably to a lighting overhaul.

The studio notably modified the operation of the walled area located outside the prison. Thus, to pass this structure, you need to activate the doors manually. Once this is done, you have to wait 30 seconds for all the doors to open, which will automatically close after only 10 seconds. A general alarm sounds to clearly specify the event to everyone. The studio thus promises a high-risk area with rewards commensurate with the challenge, not to mention the new boss, namely Nikto. Indeed, he must be taken down on the prison roof before the first extraction can be finalized. The task is far from easy since he is equipped with his riot shield and is accompanied by air support.

Before that, you need to search for and activate all the dual terminals to initiate the extraction sequence. It is worth noting that two other subtleties spice up the games. The first is a submarine located on the outskirts of the island that does not hesitate to send a missile at the players. The second is the addition of a nuclear explosion during the game. Even if you survive it, you find yourself near a radiation zone that starts at the shore and rises to block all extraction points, leaving only the central prison as a playable area.

In addition to integrating the DMZ: Recon mode, Rebirth Island becomes a map of the Battle Royale mode. Besides the graphical improvements, it comes with a few adjustments. Thus, an operator can now redeploy as many times as possible as long as their squad has not been completely eliminated. Contracts can be accepted in order to earn some rewards. Buy stations are part of the game. Players can thus buy equipment, in addition to the Bomb Drone, Attack Drone, and Precision Airstrike from the elimination series. Finally, the development team has added UAV towers to activate. These provide valuable information, namely the position of opponents.

The Monsterverse and a Reinforcement Pass

This month, players are in for a nice surprise as Activision is setting up a special collaboration to honor two legendary movie monsters. Thus, Godzilla and Kong are at the heart of a limited-time event that allows players to collect a dozen rewards, including the Grinch - Rimebound operator skin or the ASM10 - Frost Bite Weapon Blueprint. The store is also updated with two Monsterverse draws. The Godzilla draw offers the opportunity to obtain the epic ARMOR: Godzilla operator skin for Cassius, while the Kong draw invites players to discover the Cosmic Silverback - B.E.A.S.T. operator skin.

Finally, as always, the new season comes with a new Battle Pass. This one has free tiers that notably allow players to obtain additional operator skins and the DP27, a high-capacity LMG. As for those who want more content, the Premium tiers provide access to the entirety of Eternal Prison content. This includes notably the Surf Warrior - Kaiju Recon, Syd - Game Warden, Polina - High Bitrate, and Vanguard - Deepwater Elite operator skins, along with several weapon blueprints.
