Get ready to face Fate in Season 8 of Call of Duty: Mobile

Visuel de la Saison 8 de Call of Duty: Mobile mettant en avant la collaboration avec Honkai Impact 3rd
Call of DutySep 3, 20264 min read

As the year draws to a close, many eyes are turning to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the next installment in the franchise that already presents itself as its future. This one is expected on October 23 and promises an explosive campaign, a Killblock mode that shakes up the rules with its three portions offering many combinations to renew the games, and more. Nevertheless, while some still have their minds occupied by the beta phase that has just ended, we must not forget that support continues for already released experiences. In this case, Call of Duty: Mobile is about to welcome a new season.

After the Last Judgment, here we are Against All Fate

If you play a little on your smartphone, you already know that Call of Duty: Mobile has nothing to be ashamed of compared to games intended for PCs and consoles. The pocket version has all the makings of a great one, including regular updates. Indeed, Activision multiplies the Seasons, about one per month, to ensure there is always new content to renew interest. Recently, during the summer, we could join the Heart Thieves from Persona 5 Royal in Season 6, before encountering the T-800 and T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day in Season 7. In a week, from September 10, it will be Season 8, Against All Fate, which will be deployed. This is an opportunity to highlight a collaboration with Honkai Impact 3rd.

Developed by the Chinese studio miHoYo, the title will celebrate its 10th anniversary on October 14 (the franchise will turn 15 on September 28). It takes the form of an action-RPG set in a science fiction universe. It combines elements from several video game styles, including shoot 'em ups, more precisely the bullet hell variant, platform games, dungeon crawlers, and hack and slash. The integration of this collaboration into Call of Duty: Mobile will materialize through several additions, including a new aerial view Multiplayer mode of the roguelike type.

This offers a new approach that allows you to face waves of monsters. Up to three people can cooperate in hopes of reaching the final boss. The development team promises the possibility of setting up a multitude of strategies to overcome the three maps, each with its own level of difficulty. To survive, you will need to explore the environments, find elite chests, and collect upgrades, weapon traits, stigmata, and chips. If the challenge is not tough enough, you can embark on the Infinite mode which, as its name suggests, will require you to resist as long as possible against waves of enemies. Of course, the further you progress, the more the difficulty increases.

A new feature in Battle Royale, events, and a Battle Pass

As part of the collaboration, the Isolated map will be somewhat adjusted. Indeed, you will be able to discover a brand new point of interest called the Quantum Platform. Beware, do not expect to stumble upon it by chance. Its access is protected and requires passing through a portal. To find the famous teleporter, you will need to complete a new contract that will be displayed in due time. A subtlety not to be overlooked, the portal will not be usable as is. It will require a charging time... Which implies it will need to be defended during the operation. Once through the portal, the rest will not be a walk in the park. Several enemies inspired by those from Honkai Impact 3rd will be on site. Therefore, they will need to be eliminated while trying to find the hidden loot.

To properly highlight the partner license, Activision plans to launch a free mythical event. It will be a common thread for the upcoming seasons that will require patience, diligence, and determination. Several challenges will need to be met, but the rewards will be worth it. Want proof? The three mythical weapons illustrated below will be unlockable, and for free. You will eventually be able to use the ISO Hemlock - Core of Thunder, the Static-HV - Core of Fire, or the BAL-27 - Core of Reason. To earn additional rewards, including operator skins, you can participate in a thematic event and other seasonal events, including the Arcade event.

Finally, to stick with the usual pattern, the new season will be accompanied by the launch of a new Battle Pass. As usual, players will be able to enjoy free levels to unlock some items, including the ISO Hemlock, a versatile assault rifle, and premium levels. In the latter case, several operator skins will be unlockable, including Keegan - Field Medic, Manta Ray - Mecha Framewright, Cipher - Mech Pilot, and Corso - Plated Rogue.
