Today is a big day for Xbox as the Redmond firm has just made a surprise (albeit a bit spoiled by some rumors circulating online): Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has just been added to Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft's subscription service. This means that players who are subscribed can enjoy all aspects of the game at no additional cost.
A growing community
Last month, your dear Quill reported several pieces of information following the announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the new installment that will be released on October 25 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Besides confirming that Xbox will continue to provide the license on platforms other than Xbox, as the company committed to doing during the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, we especially received confirmation that this new installment will be included in the Xbox Game Pass from its release. Moreover, subscribers to Microsoft's service will have a big advantage, namely early access to the game starting August 30, just like those who opt for pre-ordering.
However, this will not be the first game in the franchise to receive this Game Pass honor. Indeed, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is joining Xbox Game Pass on console and also PC Game Pass starting this Wednesday, July 24. By extension, all members of Game Pass Ultimate (which combines these two subscriptions, plus access to certain games via the Cloud) can also enjoy it. This is excellent news as it will allow more players to join the multiplayer mode. On this topic, if you want to start with some basics before tackling the multiplayer mode, we encourage you to read everything that's in store for you since the deployment of Season 5. Finally, this will also allow everyone who hadn't had the chance to experience this latest edition (released last November) to enjoy the Campaign mode and discover the renewal of the Zombies mode.
