Boss, there is a new Replacement for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Philippe Etchebest est le nouveau Replacer
Call of DutyOct 27, 20252 min read

For a few years now, there has been a character associated with the Call of Duty franchise that has been talked about a lot. It's the Replacer (Le Remplaçant in its French version). This character is primarily associated with promotional campaigns. It aims to bring a big dose of humor by presenting itself as the person capable of replacing everyone who can't fulfill their duties on the day of the new release. Why? Simply because they will be busy enjoying the game. This year, French players can discover the replacer of the replacer.

In 2013, Activision had a brilliant idea: to provide players with an excuse to give to their boss, family, teachers, etc., so they could play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in peace. Given the success of this promotional campaign, the publisher continued with the other Black Ops releases, except for the Cold War episode. To embody this character, the charismatic Peter Stormare, an actor known for his roles in Fargo, Constantine, No Pain No Gain, and John Wick 2, among others, was chosen. Last year, as part of the promotion for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the Replacer was, of course, back. He was even seen in our columns taking the place of a firefighter, a kebab vendor, the Pope, or a father.

This year, instead of opting for a Modern Warfare franchise release, for example, Activision has decided to continue with Black Ops. Therefore, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to be released on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. While waiting for the upcoming November 14th, the Replacer is back to excuse all the people who are about to dive into this new installment, neglecting their obligations. While Peter Stormare is still involved, he is called upon for a mission that sends him into orbit. Ironically, the Replacer now needs a Replacer.

Look no further, Philippe Etchebest has taken a break from his show Kitchen Nightmares to fulfill this role. This multi-starred French chef is an example of rigor and discipline. Needless to say, the role of the Replacer suits him perfectly. He even declared, "I am delighted that my American counterpart is calling on me, my suit has been ready for a long time!" He steps out of his kitchen, leaving behind his toque, apron, and knives to put on a suit. He is ready to take on any role, like that of a tennis teacher. The passing of the torch is successful! So you will have no excuse not to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 from November 14, 2025, the official release day.
