Call of Duty MWIII and Warzone at Christmas time

MWIII S1 Vortex CODMAS
Call of DutyDec 22, 20232 min read

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa Claus hasn't officially visited the cottages yet, but he has already made a stop in Call of Duty's multiplayer for Santa's Slayground. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone are now hosting the CODMAS event, which is part of the Locked and Loaded Season 1 that was launched on December 6. Until January 3, 2024 (at 5 PM, French time), Operators will have to face the wrath of Santa's Slayground. Not everyone must have been good, but in his great kindness, our man, dressed in red and white, will allow all players to collect new rewards, including the finishing move 'Elfsecution' (note the pun).

A bit of horror for the holiday season

However, as Activision points out, the Halloween spirit has somewhat spilled over into the winter holidays, allowing the appearance of the Santa Gnaws. Horror thus mixes with snow. Of course, the end-of-year celebrations wouldn't be what they are without a minimum of snow and other decorations. Sledgehammer Games offers two maps, Shipmas and Hangover, which have the right to a reskin. On the game modes side, there's the appearance of Infectious Holiday, which will turn infected players into zombie Santas, and Snowfight, a Gunfight mode based on the famous snowball fight. A little extra, the golden snowball will ensure a one-hit kill!

Zombies also celebrate Christmas

The Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is not left out with an update of the enemies to suit the season and the integration of snowballs allowing for deadly attacks. In Call of Duty: Warzone, it's the train on the Urzikstan map that you will need to assault to hope to win powerful loot in the limited playlist Slay Ride Resurgence. You also have to capture points with Christmas trees. You need to stay nearby, with no enemies around, to start decorating. The trees can be decorated up to level 3, with the level affecting the value of the loot to be collected.

The new year already mentioned

Finally, to celebrate the new year, the developers will launch the Face the Vortex event, right after CODMAS, starting January 3. Face the Vortex will last until January 17 and will allow the discovery of Vortex versions of the Tetanus, Satan's Quarry, and Sporeyard maps. More information can be found on the official website.
