On March 1st, all eyes were on Barcelona to watch the duel between Karmine Corp and G2 Esports. The goal for both League of Legends teams was simple: win the LEC Versus 2026 final to secure a ticket to the First Stand. While the German team started the match very well, the French team showed that they had the resources needed to catch up, even if it wasn't enough.

A very contested final

G2 Esports and Karmine Corp are undoubtedly among the best European teams in League of Legends. It was therefore not surprising to see them both in the LEC Versus 2026 final. However, to reach the First Stand, a competition where KC shone last year despite a loss in the final, only one could remain. And it was the Samurais who won 3 to 2. But the result nearly swung in favor of the French team.

Without going into the details of each round, G2 Esports quickly managed to impose their game, allowing them to win the first two. Just as victory seemed more than ever within reach for G2, KC kept their cool and turned the situation in their favor during the third, thus avoiding a too-quick elimination. Thanks to a collective effort, KC managed to come back to 2:2 at the end of the fourth round, even raising hopes for a possible victory. The last match was therefore tense, between an aggressive G2 and a KC mastering the defensive aspect... After about three-quarters of an hour of fierce battle, G2 managed to exploit their opponents' weaknesses to win the final. The Samurais' team thus adds to their already impressive record by claiming the 18th European trophy in their history. Notably, Caps wins his 16th title, while BrokenBlade secures his 10th title.

The next chapter will be written between March 16 and 22 in São Paulo, Brazil, during the First Stand. The competition will take place in three phases: the group stage, the elimination stage, and finally, the Final. Among G2 Esports' opponents are Gen.G, BNK FearX, Lyon, Team Secret Whales, and LOUD, in addition to two Chinese teams that will qualify on March 4 and 7, respectively.
