Mixing cars and soccer was a bold idea. Psyonix brilliantly implemented it to create Rocket League, a game initially released in July 2015. More than 10 years later, players continue to drive on virtual fields with the aim of putting the ball in the opposing goals. This longevity is owed to the development team that constantly brings fresh blood and to a competitive scene that keeps the game in the spotlight. As a result, Epic Games unveils Season 22 deployed from today.
The quest for improvement
A new season inevitably means new features. With Season 22, the development team wants to give players more tools to perfect their strategy before testing it in competitions. Among the changes, we note the arrival of the matchmaking rating (MMR), the respawn time of boost pads, and the status of the flip reset. The interface has been reworked and new training options are included. By the way, if you're new to the game, consider reading the five tips we offer in our columns to get started.
Once confidence takes hold of you, you can set out to conquer weekly tournaments with the aim of winning cash prizes. Then, you can step up a gear by participating in the Bracket Rivalry. Behind this name lies a knockout competition that requires helping a duo of content creators progress in the tournament. How? Simply by taking on the title of player for your favorite team between March 20 and 26, and scoring goals. These will accumulate to help them reach the final stage, which will take place on May 24 during the Paris Major. The two finalist teams will face off at this event.
Additional content
A new season is an opportunity to discover a new Rocket Pass. This time, it highlights items from the Jordan brand. These can also be purchased in the shop. Basketball fans can, among other things, acquire a special ball available in the Hoops mode, skins, or banners. Additionally, from March 26, it will be possible to participate in an event dedicated to the brand. Of course, you'll need to be as quick as during a rebound under the basket since it will be time-limited.

Finally, those who invest in the Rocket Pass Premium will be able to recover three new chassis based on the Dominus hitbox. So expect to be able to play with the BMW M2 Racing, Maven, and Zefira chassis. Some accessories are also included, such as a Yard Marker antenna or the Foosball goal explosion.
