Assassin's Creed Shadows emphasizes the two gameplay approaches

With Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft's message is quite clear. The French company wanted to respond to the fantasies of players. In fact, almost since the beginning of the franchise, many people have dreamed of an installment set in Japan. Years have passed, and this one was still awaited... Until this year 2024. But this is not the only element that was retained because, over the discussions on how to develop this installment, it seemed evident that two profiles related to stories around feudal Japan stood out. Rather than choosing, the developers decided to integrate both, as we have already seen during the Ubisoft Forward.

A duo, two styles, two approaches

By November 15, the official release day of Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft will offer various media to enhance the hype effect while trying to attract new audiences. In this context, the company has just released a new video of more than five minutes that focuses once again on the duo and their specificities. Playing with Naoe will definitely not offer the same experience as with Yasuke.

Naoe is a shinobi, a character designed for stealth. This imaginary daughter of the shinobi Fujibayashi Nagato will rely entirely on stealth thanks to her agility and speed. She will represent the so-called classic experience of the franchise, even though she proves to be much more agile, especially in her way of approaching parkour. Stealth will be her best weapon, in addition to her hidden blade and grappling hook. Players will need to play with light and the nerves of enemies.

Yasuke is a samurai, a character designed for combat. Tall, impressive, muscular, he is capable of facing a large number of enemies at once or breaking through armored doors. Heavy objects do not scare him. However, what he gains in strength, he loses in agility. So don't expect to do parkour with him, jumping from the roof doesn't have the same effect as with Naoe.

The good point is that the developers wanted to respect the choice of players, allowing everyone to opt for one or the other protagonist during the adventure. Everyone will thus be able to forge their own experience, having to deal with the qualities but also the flaws of each.
