Forget infiltration, combat, and everything related to action, and enjoy discovering Baghdad, or at least its representation during the Abbasid Empire. This is the promise of the Discovery Tour, a game mode introduced with Assassin's Creed Origins that allows virtual exploration of reconstructed sites. To enable more people to access it, Ubisoft has decided to roll out a dedicated app available on Android smartphones and iOS devices.

Journey to the Heart of History
In 2017, Ubisoft breathed new life into the Assassin's Creed saga with the Origins installment. This invited players to discover a new adventure set in Egypt... But it was also the installment that integrated an RPG dimension into the franchise, offering more extensive content and a revamped combat system. It paved the way for other installments, including Odyssey, Valhalla, and more recently Shadows. We mention it in our Metropolis Chronicle columns because AC Origins introduced the Discovery Tour, an educational mode providing access to information related to historical monuments and sites reproduced in the game, all in open access without combat or other elements disrupting the discovery.
Highly appreciated by the community, this mode was then introduced in the two following installments. Not only does it offer a fun way to learn more about History, but the quality is such that it is used in some classes, receiving praise from teachers. More than a game mode, it's a true educational tool. Even if AC Mirage is now over two years old, it's never too late to discover Baghdad, at least in a more peaceful way than playing the title. This is especially true as this installment, which marks a return to the roots of the franchise, was deployed last year on iOS devices.
To immerse yourself in 9th-century Baghdad during the Abbasid Empire, Ubisoft invites you to download the Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad now. No need to hesitate, it's free and available on both the App Store and Google Play Store. You can even use it on any device using a web browser. Once you have access, you can appreciate the work of the development team while enjoying a narrative journey of about 2 hours.
Sugar Creative, which is behind this app, has even integrated some mini-games allowing you to collect entries from the Codex. This gives you the opportunity to access the Codex to enjoy all the encyclopedic entries. You will then have access to a wealth of information related to history, art, and culture. Everything is interactive to offer a lively and instructive experience, while gathering additional information related to the period in question.
