Fulllife UniverseAug 1, 20254 min read

About 4 years after Battlefield 2042, the iconic franchise from Electronic Arts is preparing to return to the spotlight. For this comeback, the American publisher does not intend to do things halfway. Battlefield 6 aims to conquer the virtual battlefield and, to do so, it has several tricks up its sleeve. The first, revealed during the announcement of the game, is the grand return of the Campaign mode. But, many know, the franchise primarily relies on its multiplayer... And this new installment is set to go all out.

A more ambitious multiplayer than ever

Electronic Arts promised it, and the publisher delivered. It has just unveiled the multiplayer of Battlefield 6 with a dynamic trailer that highlights combat on foot and in vehicles, both on land and in the air. It also shows the dynamism of the battles, thanks to the integration of several new gameplay features, but above all the quality of the environmental destruction. Battlefield Studios, which includes Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect, aims to offer the ultimate total war experience. Players can therefore expect intense matches, requiring reflexes, strategy, and team cohesion. There is no doubt that the spectacular aspect will be present.

Gameplay, the heart of the experience

Everyone knows, in a shooting game, several factors can transform the experience, or even transcend it. Among these are the sensations. Weapon recoil, dynamic aiming system, tactical possibilities, etc., are all elements to consider. With Battlefield 6, the development team is keen to show that they have worked on all aspects to offer a dynamic rendering. This notably includes the brand-new kinesthetic combat system that drastically improves movements. Whether during battles or in terms of movement, the characters gain in skill and possibilities.

Better yet, players can now mount weapons on walls. A system that is important because it allows for reduced recoil and therefore a more stable aim. Precision is gained at the expense of mobility. Nonetheless, it remains an interesting tactical choice that can fit into a cooperative logic aimed at integrating teammates providing cover. Cooperation within the same team will be even more encouraged with the integration of the “Drag and Revive” system. Concretely, this allows a teammate on the ground to be grabbed, dragged to safety, and saved from certain death.

Still in this idea of complementarity, the four emblematic classes of the license, namely Assault, Scout, Support, and Engineer, make their grand return. To accentuate the strategic aspect they introduce, each will have its specific training, its own gadgets, and signature weapons. Each role will have its importance. Of course, what would Battlefield be without its destruction system? Not much. With Battlefield 6, Batteflield Studios aims to push the experience even further. The destruction system has been completely redesigned to offer even more freedom. Each destruction modifies the terrain, creates a new passage, allows you to take ownership of the area to adjust your strategy. No need to bypass a building to take the enemy by surprise, you can simply go through it. Electronic Arts claims that the level of freedom will be unprecedented.

Many modes for fun

Attracting players is one thing. Keeping them in the game is another. For this, Battlefield 6 will offer several multiplayer modes and multiple maps to renew the interest of the games. Fans of the license will find several well-known modes, namely Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, King of the Hill, and the emblematic Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush. To add fresh blood to this wide selection, Battlefield Studios will integrate a new mode, aptly named Crescendo.

This latter will bring together two teams with the same goal: capture strategic control points. Of course, to bring some variety in the settings, several very different maps will be part of the game. Players will thus travel virtually to all corners of the world, going to Egypt, Gibraltar, Tajikistan, or even the streets of New York. Different atmospheres guaranteed!

The most creative fans of the license will also be delighted to learn that the Portal is making a return in an improved version. Electronic Arts promises to integrate new tools to allow everyone to create unique community experiences. Of course, as with any multiplayer playable game, the publisher promises to ensure a constant follow-up after release. Several new features will therefore arrive over time to enrich the experience and maintain interest.

Beta, release date, essential info

Battlefield 6 will take players to the year 2027, a year in which the private military company Pax Armata plans to annihilate what remains of NATO. However, there is no need to wait another 2 years to play it. You can therefore take out your Agenda app or your calendar and a pen. Then, you just need to mark a big cross on the date of October 10th, which has been chosen as the official release date of the game. Does the wait seem too long? A nice surprise is coming. EA will set up two beta test weekends. Thus, everyone who wishes to can participate in the open beta between August 9th and 10th and between August 14th and 17th. This will provide a significant preview. As a bonus, by watching streams from certain content creators associated with the project, it will be possible to gain early access to the beta starting August 7th.
