The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign is further revealed in video

Between the invasion of South Korea and Captain John Price becoming an outlaw seeking revenge, all while needing to prevent a weapon from falling into the wrong hands, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign promises an adventure to experience at full speed. Action, shootouts, revelations, and unexpected alliances will punctuate the story that promises "an epic conclusion." To raise the stakes, Activision unveiled a trailer focused on the said Campaign during the Tokyo Game Show.

A darker narrative arc, an omnipresent danger

October 23, 2026, is fast approaching. The tension is rising, and the desire to discover the continuation of Captain Price's adventures is great. If the impatience is too strong, it is even possible to pre-order the Standard digital edition or the Weapon Chest edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to access the Campaign in early access from October 16. The narrative, which began in 2019 with the release of the franchise's Modern Warfare reboot, might benefit from a refresher on the main lines of the storyline. Thus, if it hasn't been done yet, your servant invites you to enjoy the summary of the events of the three previous titles on this recap accompanied by a video. 

Once all the pieces are well in place in your memory, you better realize that the story reaches a critical point. After the elimination of Shepherd, John Price crossed a line that places him on the side of outlaws, leading a quest guided by revenge. Task Force 141 has been disbanded, but Ghost and Gaz find themselves tracking their former captain. Yesterday's friends become tomorrow's enemies... Conversely, Price, as we saw in the trailer dedicated to the Paris mission, finds an unexpected ally to carry out his mission. This is none other than Valeria Garza, the drug baroness heading the Las Almas Cartel. 

A mysterious enemy, a large-scale war

In parallel to this, players will witness the large-scale invasion of South Korea by North Korea. The camera will therefore be placed at another theater to highlight a war offering a broader perspective. For the occasion, everyone will reunite with young soldier Hyun Jun and his team, who will do their utmost to survive while trying to protect their homeland. Naturally, the American Marines will come as reinforcements to try to restore balance. These conflicts, whether more personal or more general, only represent the tip of the iceberg. 

Behind this lies an even greater threat: an unknown weapon of war that could very well end up in the hands of "The Archer," an enemy who promises to be extremely dangerous. For movie fans, let's specify that this character is portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen, a charismatic Danish actor who played Le Chiffre in Casino Royale (a James Bond franchise film), Kaecilius in Doctor Strange, Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, and Clifford Unger (voice) in the game Death Stranding. Needless to say, players can expect an intense Campaign, rich in twists and offering darker storytelling than ever. Enough to pave the way for the Call of Duty feature film scheduled for June 30, 2028 (in American theaters) which will be based on the Modern Warfare franchise?
