Fortnite reloads with content dedicated to Squid Game

Fortnite is an extremely famous video game that continues to unite a large community. Squid Game is a Netflix event series that returns today on the streaming platform with a new season. Everything was therefore set for the two franchises to eventually cross paths, especially since Squid Game has already crossed paths with Call of Duty Black Ops 6, another very popular game. Bingo, to celebrate the arrival of this Season 3, from now on, Fortnite players can discover several new features incorporating elements from the Korean series.

1, 2, 3… Play!

If you are not (yet) familiar with Squid Game, let's recall that it is a South Korean series. Several desperate people are recruited and grouped together to participate in games inspired by playground games. The difference here is that the games are deadly. The Netflix-signed series has been a hit since its first season and it arrives today with the third season. Epic Games could not miss out on this global phenomenon. Proof of this, the development studio collaborated with the company with the red N to integrate dedicated content.

This notably begins with the addition of the new Squid Grounds map, which is now available in Reload (resetting all Reload experience ranks). This map features several points of interest, including Labyrinth, which replicates the well-known structure from the series that players use to reach various games. You can also go to the Sun Farm, the Frenzied Maze, the Rich Residence, or the Player Central. Everything is indicated on the map below. As a bonus, it is even possible to play "Red Light, Green Light." Note that Squid Grounds, the only Reload map during the launch weekend, will replace Oasis when map rotation returns on June 30.

Of course, as in certain scenes in the series, the games are not the only elements that can lead to death. Fights between players can also occur. As a result, the developers provide you with equipment by adding several weapons to the Reload loot. We can notably note some new additions, such as the glider redeployment item making its debut in Reload, as well as the integration of a red-eye submachine gun and an unusual boogie-woogie bomb. Finally, Epic Games includes a Squid pack that comprises a dozen outfits to match the theme, as well as an accessory pack.
