Epic Games is a leading publisher in the field of collaborations. Even though The Simpsons are not exactly new, the TV series by Matt Groening having debuted in December 1989, the most famous yellow characters on the small screen remain relevant. Proof of this is that Season 37 is currently airing in the United States and the series has been renewed up to Season 40. Homer, Marge, Bart, and the others are even making their way into the Fortnite experience. The Battle Royale version of the game invites you to compete within its own version of Springfield, with a presence in the Delulu mode and a temporary event for Rocket League.
"D'oh", it's so cool
If The Simpsons undoubtedly hold the secret to longevity, they are not alone. Fortnite is the perfect example. Epic Games' game was launched in 2017. Eight years later, it is still among the most popular titles. How to explain this feat? It's simple, Epic Games does everything possible to maintain the interest of players, while providing entry points for new players. In the most recent examples, we can note the integration of the Delulu mode, which spices up the games by removing building, or the integration of licenses like the Power Rangers, Squid Game or even KPop Demon Hunter.
The publisher never stops and proves it once again by reintroducing The Simpsons universe in Fortnite. This represents the return of the most famous American family in the world of video games after more than a decade of absence, even more if we exclude appearances on smartphones, the last game labeled The Simpsons dating back to 2007. If an occasion is needed to mark the event, let's simply highlight that Season 37 is currently airing in the United States. This season is particularly anticipated, especially after the end of Season 36 which made fans around the world talk. Thus, this November is dedicated to Marge, Homer, Bart, Lisa, Moe, Ned Flanders, and Krusty the Clown. Players can now launch into a revamped version of Springfield in Battle Royale (up to 80 people) and in Delulu mode. It's also an opportunity to enjoy a Simpson version of Peely. The most dedicated players will also be happy to identify Kang and Kodos in the cast.
Of course, the development team intends to renew the appeal throughout the month by adding various content inspired by the license. This includes the famous Springfield battle pass allowing among other things to unlock Premium rewards including Homer, Marge, Flanders, Blinky, and Springfielder version Peely. Those who play Rocket League can also discover a temporary event allowing again to unlock rewards. Finally, last but not least, Epic Games and Gracie Films have collaborated to co-produce original The Simpsons shorts available on Disney+ and the game's social networks. The first is already available and the next ones will be broadcast every Monday of November starting from the 10th. They will aim to introduce the weekly narrative and map changes. As soon as the new features are deployed, on Tuesday, the videos will be added to the "Quests" tab.
