The new season of Fortnite is marked by rivalries

This March 19, 2026, is a big day for all Fortnite fans. Why? Simply because, in addition to the game's grand return to the Google Play Store, Epic Games is launching Showdown, the brand new season that requires choosing your side. So, are you in favor of the Foundation or the Ice King?

Launching the hostilities

Generally, when participating in a game's Battle Royale mode, you fight primarily for yourself, to be the last person standing. However, there are situations where the collective can take precedence over individualism. This is exactly the case now in Fortnite's BR mode. Indeed, with the launch of Chapter 7 Season 2, the development team is creating a true sense of rivalries. Players are therefore led to choose their side. Either you roll with the Foundation, or you join the opposing camp, namely the Ice King.

In any case, forget neutrality, you have to make your choice. The goal is simple: play to advance your camp and ensure it emerges victorious at the end of the season. Of course, to encourage everyone to play along, Epic Games promises an ultimate reward. All those who hold the battle pass will receive a unique outfit determined by the victorious camp. Thus, they will either get the Frost-Ready Foundation outfit or the Exalted Frost Ice King outfit.

How does all this come together? During a match, just face another player in a one-on-one fight. This player then becomes a rival. The more you prevail over them, the more points you accumulate to advance your camp. Additionally, you earn Rival Credits to exchange for some bonuses, including weapons, EXP, or even perks. As a bonus, from April 9, the Rivalry system will also be integrated into the Arenas mode.

Never without a Pass

It's a ritual: with each launch of a new season, Epic Games offers a brand new Battle Pass. Thus, in exchange for 800 V-bucks, you can acquire the brand new one that allows you to unlock the Exalted Ice King outfit. If you also get the Pass before March 27, you will be entitled to a bonus, namely the Stealth Tech Foundation style and its accessories. As for the other rewards, to unlock them, you need to gain levels. The system is quite traditional but why change a formula that works? It will therefore be through the sweat of your fingers that you can eventually unlock the outfits of Bugs Bunny, The Order (Reforged) or Elite Jules, in addition to various accessories, starting with the Ice Prince Sidekick and the Ice King's Frostwalkers Kicks.
