Fortnite's Delulu mode removes building and adds betrayal

When it comes to bringing fresh blood to Fortnite, Epic Games is full of resources. This can happen through partnerships, like the one recently established to integrate the Power Rangers, or through the integration of original ideas. Precisely, the development team had a great idea to concoct a temporary game mode that is likely to spice up the games.

Friends, that's all that matters, except when you need to win

Epic Games presents the Delulu mode, an original mode in which there is no building. So put down the tools and instead reach out to make friends... While keeping the other hand behind your back, weapon in hand, to go on the offensive when the right moment comes. The essence of this temporary game mode is the ability to form friendships with players by forming squads of four people. Except, the goal of the game is to be the last survivor. Do you see the problem coming? Even if you reach the end with your squad, you will have to step out to eliminate the ex-teammates and thus win the match. Of course, in these conditions, you are not at risk of being banned for leaving it.

We therefore find a system based on cooperation and betrayal that requires estimating how long an ally will remain loyal. In other words, you have to give your trust while being wary. The concept is simple but devilishly effective. Moreover, thanks to proximity voice chat, you can talk with all those who are geographically close to your position on the map. The little subtlety is that spectators have their own chat channel and they can hear the players still in the game.

To participate, just access the Delulu queue after setting voice chat to “Everyone”. Two sessions are planned. The first starts today and will end on September 22. The second will take place between September 26 and 29. Of course, there are some rewards at stake. Thus, anyone who wins a royal victory in said mode can unlock a White Card Umbrella glider.

Update of September 25: Epic Games has revised the victory condition of the second session by allowing an entire squad to win the match.
