Fortnite hits the road to South Park, to get some fresh air

Epic Games continues to highlight several licenses from pop culture. After featuring The Simpsons last November, the studio makes another big move. This time, players can enjoy content dedicated to another very popular animated series: South Park. Get ready to meet the characters from the franchise, complete new quests, and visit CartmanLand, Cartman's amusement park. Don't delay, you only have until February 5th to enjoy it.

Politically Incorrect Content

South Park is an animated series that, despite its colorful visuals, is clearly not intended for the youngest audience. Created in 1997 by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, it presents itself as a satire of American society. The content is provocative and irreverent. Swear words are abundant, and the humor is often below the belt. A true anomaly on the small screen, the franchise has managed to establish itself and find its audience. It has even explored other horizons, thanks to a film released in 1999 and several video games released over the years. Notably, we remember the first-person game released in 1998, a racing game in 2000, and the two very good titles from Ubisoft, namely South Park: The Stick of Truth and its sequel South Park: The Fractured But Whole. 28 seasons later, the series is still being broadcast, showing the extent of the phenomenon. 

Today, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Kenny McCormick, and the iconic Eric Cartman (voiced in French by the inimitable Christophe Lemoine) are taking on Fortnite, the phenomenon of the video game scene. The four boys can be found in the shop, along with Butters Stotch (also voiced by Christophe Lemoine in the French version of the series). In addition to the characters, players can enjoy a Pass called Born in Chaos. Completely free, it allows you to collect up to thirteen items from the franchise, including the Terrance and Phillip pickaxe. If you complete all the quests, you'll also get the Imaginationland Airship glider. 

Grab the Stick of Truth and Visit a Park

In addition to the cosmetic elements, Epic Games has included some new gameplay features. The first is a new 5-Squad mode. The following are related to the integration of three elements from South Park. Thus, if you grab the Stick of Truth, you'll be able to control the storm. However, be careful, as it can only be used once. Use it at the right moment. The Cheesy Poofs will help you heal. But you can also use them to harm opponents. In the latter case, aim to obtain Kenny's respawn token, which allows for automatic recovery. 

Finally, to further integrate the franchise's universe into the game, the development team has added a brand new point of interest. Head over to CartmanLand which, as the name suggests, is an amusement park owned by Cartman. As Epic Games specifies, this park allows you to enjoy several thrilling attractions, including Chaos Blast, Pi Pi's Urineworld, and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
