2026 is a big year for French electronic sports. Indeed, Paris will host the Esports World Cup from July 6th to August 23rd. Even before the launch of this must-see event, one of the most famous French teams, namely Karmine Corp, shone in the Paris Major. Indeed, the team composed of Vatira, Atow, and juicy just won the tournament in front of its home crowd, remaining undefeated. A look back at this brilliant performance.

A trio at the top of their game

Karmine Corp is one of the most famous and successful esports teams. Between May 21st and 24th, 2026, during the RLCS Major circuit, the French team showcased all its qualities in front of an already supportive audience. Indeed, the trio, composed of Vatira (crowned MVP), Atow, and juicy, who excel in Rocket League, achieved the feat of winning the tournament undefeated. Karmine Corp completely dominated the group stage, finishing first without a single defeat. They then continued their ascent by beating Gentle Mates (M8) 4 to 1 in the quarter-finals, before securing a 4 to 3 victory against Team Vitality. They thus propelled themselves into the final against the Saudi team Twisted Minds.

Of course, with the French team playing at home, the crowd was cheering them on. The Blue Wall knew how to set the mood, despite the stakes of the BO7. KC started strong by winning the first game 4 to 2, setting the tone. Thanks to solid defense in the second game, KC managed to win the round 1 to 0, bringing the score to 2 rounds to 0. The Saudi team responded in the third round by winning 3 to 0, closing in on the score. Despite this slowdown, KC did not collapse. The trio, more united than ever, entered the rather tight fourth round.

With a steely mindset and striking realism, the team managed to secure a 3 to 1 victory, giving them a breath of fresh air. Only one more round was needed to win. The French team didn't want to let the suspense drag on any longer. Thus, in a thrilling fifth round, the trio won 2 to 1 during overtime thanks to a liberating goal by Atow. The final score is clear: KC wins 4 to 1, igniting the Défense Arena. The team lifts the trophy at home and takes the lead in the RLCS 2026 European rankings. The rest of the story will be written soon, starting August 12th at the Esports World Cup in Paris. This will be followed by the World Championship in Fort Worth from September 15th to 20th, 2026.

Rocket League is about to evolve, teasing begins

Psyonix took advantage of the spotlight on Rocket League to tease the sequel. The studio announced that the game will evolve as it will use Unreal Engine 6, the new (not yet released) version of Epic Games' engine. The title, which currently runs on UE 3, will make a big leap forward by featuring more modern visuals as evidenced by the technical demo presented. This showcases a real-time capture. As the studio specifies, with this engine change, Rocket League will enter a new era.
