A new update for World of Warcraft is a guarantee for players to discover some new features, get involved in an additional narrative arc, and face unprecedented dangers. That's great because the Midnight campaign continues with the arrival of the content of The Curse of Ula'tek. Grab your keyboards and your computer mouse, we're heading to the Coiled Isle.

An adventure with a background of brotherhood

Since the beginning of the year, the roadmap for tracking World of Warcraft is very clear. Blizzard Entertainment is sticking to the plan and moving its pieces with surgical precision, promising a year rich in new features, up to this fall with updates 12.1.5 and 12.1.7 to be deployed after Blizzcon. For those who don't know yet, this event will take place on September 12. 2026 is therefore a great vintage for the franchise, especially since the year started with a bang on March 3 with the deployment of the Midnight expansion. No need to remind you that it has completely changed the perception of the game with the integration of the housing system. Two weeks later, the follow-up resumed with the launch of Season 1. A little later, the Revelations update was deployed as planned. The plan is the plan. So, logically, this summer, the development team had planned to deploy update 12.1 before launching Season 2.

Now that we are in the middle of summer, the studio is keeping its promise. Update 12.1, more beautifully named The Curse of Ula'tek, is now available. It invites all players to discover a new area, namely the Coiled Isle. Located off the east coast of Zul'Aman, it will be the setting for a story of brotherhood. Zul'jarra will do everything to try to convince his brother Zul'jan that he has taken the wrong path. The latter aims to recover the power of Ula'tek to build an ideal... With a hint of jealousy after seeing his sister rise to power? Who knows? In any case, several questions will arise, including the following two which are crucial... Have the Loas betrayed the Amanis? Are they protecting them? You will have your answers by diving into this new arc!

A phase to prepare for Season 2

What is certain is that this new content adds four activities, including the Vaults of Atal'Utek, which promise group challenges and a rotation of public events leading to a boss fight, and the cursed fishing. Three new Abysses are also part of it, in addition to the Altar of Fangs, a new Three-Boss Dungeon. The bravest can also launch an assault on the Venomous Abyss, a new Eight-Boss Raid, including Ula'tek as the final boss. Beware, this is just the beginning. Indeed, in a week, starting from August 19, Blizzard Entertainment will launch Season 2 of Midnight. It will also be the occasion to launch Season 2 of Mythic+ dungeons and that of the Nightmare and Curse of the Island Hunt.

The Raid of the Venomous Abyss will be available in normal, heroic, and mythic modes. It should also be noted that mythic 0 mode will reset daily and will confer level 292 equipment. New quests from the Arcantina will appear, updates for the user interface for the Cooldown Manager (to track trinkets and potions) and the ping system will be deployed, while the housing system will receive its new features. Everyone will be able to welcome pets. Moreover, everyone will be able to save, export, or import plans. Finally, an important point: newcomers will benefit from arenas against bots to learn the ropes before facing other players.
