Assassin's Creed Mirage includes permanent death

Assassin's Creed Mirage Update
Assassin's CreedFeb 20, 20242 min read

If you are playing Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you may have noticed that a new update has just been deployed on all platforms. Named Update 1.0.7, it is of course aimed at fixing various bugs reported by the community (the patch notes in English are available here) but also at adding a new challenge that offers no second chance.

Full synchronization or Game Over

This is the big novelty of this update 1.0.7, the Full Synchronization Challenge (or permadeath mode) offers players a challenge in which death is permanent. Normally, when Basim is desynchronized, it is possible to resume the game after a screen allowing you to reload your last save. With this challenge activated, any desynchronization of the Animus is final and sends you to a screen summarizing game statistics, such as playtime, cause of death, or the number of enemies killed. It is therefore important to keep Basim alive and not make him commit an illegal action such as killing an innocent or going out of the allowed areas.

Details and bonuses

To activate the Full Synchronization Challenge, it is necessary to start a new game. This challenge cannot be activated or deactivated during a game. Another important detail, by opting for this permadeath mode, cross-progression and Cloud saves are disabled. Of course, the developers are keen to reward those who take on this significant challenge, regardless of the difficulty chosen. Thus, in Easy mode, a Talisman will be unlocked. In Normal mode, you will also get the Rayhan costume. In Hard mode, you will additionally obtain six new dyes. Finally, Ubisoft has added two surprises, namely a new special assassin who would roam the streets purring and the Transmog feature, which allows you to change the appearance of your outfit with any acquired costume.
