Since the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft has continually offered new features. The publisher regularly deploys roadmaps to provide visibility on upcoming additions. Today, the development studio is rolling out a new update that notably adds a quest from a collaboration. Players can discover content inspired by the Attack on Titan franchise. However, be careful, the event is time-limited. It's best not to delay to take advantage of it.

A shinobi, a samurai, and titans

March 20 was an important date for all fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise. Indeed, it was the day finally chosen for the release of the Shadows episode. This one was highly anticipated as it finally allowed players to dive into feudal Japan. Quickly becoming a flagship game for Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed Shadows is pampered by the publisher. Even though AC Mirage has taken a bit more of the spotlight lately, notably with the online release of the content The Valley of Memories, AC Shadows is not ready to stay in the shadows.

The proof is a new update, aptly named Update 1.1.6, which lands today. This one is quite special as it includes a (free) quest highlighting content inspired by Attack on Titan, the manga by Hajime Isayama that emerged in 2009. More precisely, Ubisoft indicates that the collaboration focuses on the animated series adaptation. Nevertheless, players can head to the Northwest of Yamashiro to find the Quest Giver. They have until December 22 to embark on this event where Naoe and Yasuke will be guided by Ada. The duo will help her save a friend from a mysterious cult... But also and above all try to prevent a Titan from unleashing terror on Japan. To do this, they will need to go to the crystal cave and face enemies announced as monstrous. A small but significant detail, to access the quest, you must meet a prerequisite: having unlocked Yasuke as a playable character.

Of course, the bravest will be rewarded for their courage. Items to collect are part of the deal, including a new katana. For others, there is another way to obtain content inspired by the franchise. Indeed, Ubisoft offers packs themed around Attack on Titan. Weapons, outfits, and more are available to collect. For the record, Yasuke has an outfit inspired by the Titans, while Naoe's is inspired by Mikasa.

Finally, as the icing on the cake, players can also discover a third free story. Called "An Enigmatic Discovery," it includes an environmental puzzle and promises to bring a good dose of humor. Indeed, Naoe will attempt to replicate Yasuke's war kick, while the latter will try his hand at non-lethal stealth takedowns. Knowing the profiles of the two protagonists, it's hard to imagine one learning the other's techniques, at least not without a touch of humor.
