With Battlefield 6 Season 4 coming to an end, it's logical to see that Electronic Arts and the Battlefield Studios are preparing for what's next. Season 5 will officially start on October 13. It will be deployed in three phases, adding notably three new maps, an event dedicated to the Dead Space franchise, a fast Royale mode in REDSEC, and several improvements.

A grand 2026 continues

In April 2026, Electronic Arts unveiled the roadmap for the follow-up to Battlefield 6 until the end of the year. The Battlefield Studios are sticking to it and following the schedule scrupulously. Each new season has its own particularity. Thus, Season 3 notably introduced Train to Golmud, the reinterpretation of Golmud Railway from Battlefield 4, which was presented as the largest map in Battlefield 6. Season 4, for its part, added the Tsuru Reef map, marking the grand return of naval battles, in addition to setting up an exceptional collaboration with the Top Gun franchise. As always, each season is composed of three phases. The last one of Season 4, dedicated to the Tidal Strike event, is coming to an end, and players are logically waiting to discover the content of Season 5.

Phase 1 bets everything on Las Vegas and Area 51

The latter will begin on October 13, 2026, with the launch of Phase 1 titled Siege of Las Vegas. As its name suggests, it will invite everyone to evolve in an environment inspired by the famous American city. So head to Nevada to discover the Vegas Strip map. For shooting game enthusiasts, it's hard not to have a memory come back, at least if you've ever played Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Vegas. You'll find restaurants, casinos, multi-story hotels, etc., in short, all sorts of elements that can be destroyed. To get into the mood right away, the publisher offers an explosive trailer. Shots everywhere, catchy music, explosions, the city of sin should guarantee action-packed games where the spectacle prevails.

While Nevada is extremely famous for Las Vegas, an essential city for weddings, parties, and gaming, let's not forget that this US state also hosts Area 51. This is fitting, as it will also be the subject of a new map. The atmosphere will be different. This time, we'll trade neon lights, buildings, etc., for desert hills and an underground facility. Will you encounter aliens there? That's what you'll discover by exploring this new map.

Little bonus, Battlefield REDSEC will have a new game mode. It will be the Fast Royale mode. Unsurprisingly, it will take the form of a variant of the Battle Royale mode, promising faster matches with fewer players. For the rest, the basics will not change. The goal will remain to eliminate other squads to be the last one standing. The difference will be in the management of respawns. Indeed, you will need to eliminate opponents to accumulate redeployment tokens and thus hope to return to the game after being knocked down. A little subtlety: the number of eliminations required to obtain said tokens will increase as the game progresses.

Here's what awaits you for the rest of Season 5

As we mentioned in the lines above, Season 5 will consist of several phases, ensuring a constant renewal of content. Once everyone has had time to discover the Vegas Strip and Zone 51 maps, the development team will launch a special event to celebrate Halloween. For the occasion, it's a horror license from Electronic Arts that will be highlighted, namely Dead Space. Thus, from October 20 to November 7, players will be able to enjoy an off-series event. It will add several elements from Dead Space, including cosmetics and environments inspired by those from the 2023 remake.

Shortly after the event, the Battlefield Studios will deploy Phase 2. Thus, from November 10, everyone will be invited to discover the European Casino map as part of the Casino Heist update. The team promises a map designed for close-quarters combat. Several secrets will be discovered in the vaults located in the casino. Then, you will have to wait until December 8 to discover Phase 3, aptly named Frozen Aces. For the occasion, there will be no new map, but players will dive into a new operation that will lead to fighting on the two maps deployed at the start of the season as a cold wave hits Las Vegas.
