March 20, 2025, was a big day for all fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise. Indeed, players could discover the new installment called Assassin's Creed Shadows, on PC (Windows), macOS, Amazon Luma, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X[S. As always with the series, Ubisoft invited everyone to discover a new destination. This time, it was Japan. With the possibility of playing as either a shinobi or a samurai, AC Shadows was a highly anticipated title. It did not disappoint and managed to win over its audience on the mentioned platforms. Today, it opens up to more people by arriving on Nintendo Switch 2.
Play on the living room TV or cozy in bed...
The very principle of the Nintendo Switch 2 is to be able to play in handheld mode whenever you want or enjoy your games in docked mode on your TV. The concept is appealing as it offers a certain freedom. Needless to say, it can be convenient to leave the TV to others in your household while you play in portable mode in your corner... When it's not simply to enjoy your games cozy in bed or while traveling. In short, what is certain is that Ubisoft's title was not yet available on Nintendo's console. Until today!
Indeed, the development team worked on a port that now allows you to play as Naoe and Yasuke on Switch 2. Not only can you (re)discover the adventure while enjoying the benefits of the support, but this version also includes some specific features. Besides an optimized experience, Ubisoft offers navigation in the menus and the map via the touchscreen. As it is not always easy to be connected to the Internet all the time, especially in portable mode, it is entirely possible to play offline once the game is downloaded on the console.
As for the technical aspect, no worries: the title runs at 30 frames per second, both in portable and docked mode. Moreover, if you have already started a game on another platform, you can resume it on your Nintendo Switch 2. No sorcery is involved... This cross-progression is ensured by connecting to your Ubisoft Connect account. This allows saving progress across different gaming platforms. Similarly, the in-game store content is unified. You don't need to purchase items twice.
Finally, an important point, this Nintendo Switch 2 version allows enjoying all the content that has been released for free on other versions between March 20 and today. This means that those who indulge now will be able to fully enjoy the exclusive quest featuring Attack on Titan content. However, be aware that it will only be active until December 22. After that, you can take a short break during the holiday season before diving back in early next year. Indeed, at the beginning of 2026, Ubisoft will add the substantial Awaji Hunt extension which has been available since September 16 on other platforms.
