On June 10th, all fans of the Call of Duty franchise were able to shout for joy upon discovering the official announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. At that moment, Activision shared some information about the context of this sequel which ends the traditional alternation with other franchises such as Modern Warfare or Infinite Warfare. The publisher was also able to confirm the platforms for the game, although the release date was not set. This date was particularly anticipated... And it is now known. Better yet, there will even be a beta test phase in two stages.
Strategic dates
The wait has just come to an end. Activision has officially announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be released on November 14th, both on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. You can already mark your calendar. The period aligns with the release window of previous installments, covering the months of October and November. This positioning is not accidental. It allows for the passing of back-to-school releases while leaving a few weeks before the year-end holidays. It's an opportunity for the most patient among you to add the title to your desired gift list. Think the impatience will be too strong? If you play on PC or Xbox, you will always have the opportunity to enjoy the title via Game Pass. No need to wait longer, the title will be added Day One to the Ultimate offer.
Before that, Activision has a nice surprise in store. Indeed, the publisher plans to set up a beta test phase between October 2nd and 8th. This will take place in two stages. Specifically, early access, reserved for eligible Game Pass subscribers and those who pre-ordered the game, will be allowed from October 2nd. It will last 72 hours. Then, the open beta will take over. Accessible from October 5th, it will allow everyone to try the game for 3 days. It's a good way to start building a community around this new installment while trying to convince the undecided to be there on November 14th.
An experience that promises to be thrilling
Even though Treyarch and Raven Software have decided to continue with Black Ops 7, it doesn't mean that the two studios are resting on their laurels after the success of Black Ops 6. Far from it, as suggested by the gameplay trailer released for the occasion. Players will be propelled into the near future, in 2035. They will play as David Mason who leads an elite team to counter a sophisticated plot. Facing this group will be Raul Mendez. He is back and warns the people: “blood will flow again in [the] streets.” The threat is real, the world is on the brink of chaos...
To avoid the worst, you will need to travel to various and diverse locations, including Nicaragua, Los Angeles, Angola, Tokyo, Alaska, and even Avalon. Our group will have to face the physical threat but also fight against some demons from the past. Fear leads to control, to submission, so it will have to be overcome, whether playing solo or in a team in a brand new cooperative Campaign mode announced as "innovative." It must be admitted, in addition to offering a beautiful variety in terms of scenery, the destinations promise some challenges to be met, notably by exploiting the level design. As the speech mentions, killing a man can prove to be much easier than killing the ideology he supports. There will be much to do.
Of course, the menu will also include Multiplayer mode and Zombies mode. The first will allow you to enjoy 16 maps at 6 vs 6 from the first day, as well as 2 maps at 20 vs 20. Again, diversity is expected to be on the agenda and, to get ahead of your opponents, you will need to master the omnidirectional movement system. As for the second, it promises a true descent into madness for the team trapped at the very heart of the Dark Ether.
