Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is available, here are the key points to remember

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Endgame
Call of DutyNov 14, 20253 min read

The discovery of the new Call of Duty is generally the end-of-year ritual. Even if the event repeats itself, the anticipation is always at its peak, especially since the franchise offers a rich experience. Since the confirmation last June that this year's installment would be Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, everyone was eagerly awaiting this episode which offers a cooperative campaign, a multiplayer mode, and of course marks the return of the much-loved Zombies mode.

An immersive Story mode

Raul Menendez once launched a personal vendetta against the United States. To prevent him from pursuing his plans, in the 1980s, CIA agent Alex Mason sets out to track him down. In vain... But in 2025, his son Alex takes over alongside Frank Woods. However, the world is ready to implode, Menendez's supporters are rising, infrastructures are collapsing... Chaos is not far off. These are the main lines of this story that continues to enrich itself throughout the episodes. CoD Black Ops 7 picks up the narrative after the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. It offers a small leap into the future since the scenario takes place in 2035. Raven Software, the studio in charge of the campaign, promises that it is the most innovative of the franchise. You can play it both solo and with friends in cooperation. For the first time, it offers a global progression across all modes and features an endgame experience called the Endgame.

Logically, to access it, you will need to complete the first 11 missions. Once this is done, players will discover the beginning of a brand new shared experience. The world then fully opens up for games that can accommodate up to 32 players divided into teams of 4 maximum. Everyone will be led to explore the lands of Avalon through a vast map. Dynamic objectives will need to be completed in order to continue gaining experience and progressing through combat levels. The confrontations will become tougher. Abilities, arsenal, you will need to make the right choices, especially as you progress, you will reach high exposure zones releasing enormous quantities of toxins.

An addictive multiplayer

Everyone knows it, what certainly makes the strength of Call of Duty, why people continue to play it for months on end, is certainly the multiplayer mode. This year, Treyarch offers 18 maps at launch, including 2 new ones intended for the Skirmish mode hosting 20 vs 20 battles, with the added bonus of using vehicles and enjoying vertical gameplay. Among the 16 others (signature maps for 6 vs 6), there are 3 maps from CoD BO2. To shoot at opponents, players can rely on the integration of around thirty weapons, including 16 new ones. Don't forget that if you need an excuse to play the game peacefully, you can always call on the Replacement, played this year by chef Philippe Etchebest.

A Zombies mode that doesn't lack bite

It was in 2008, with Call of Duty: World at War, that Treyarch introduced the Zombies mode. Initially intended as a bonus for people who had completed the Campaign mode, the Zombies mode met with unexpected success for the studio. Building on this, the latter decided to continue developing it, notably in the Black Ops installments. So it's no surprise to see its return in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. This time, it's a festival as the development studio reintroduces the Survival maps from Black Ops 2 and integrates Ashes of the Damned, the largest map in the mode. Several new locations are accessible. To discover them, you need to take the Miracle Vehicle. Finally, those who love challenges can enjoy the Curse mode.

This is just the beginning...

The launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is just the beginning of the adventure. As always, the development teams working for Activision will support the title by regularly deploying new content. This will begin on December 4th with the launch of Season 1. It is already full of promises as the Endgame content will be enriched with new experiences, the multiplayer mode will welcome 6 additional 6V6 maps, while the Zombies mode will have 3 new maps. There will also be 7 new weapons to enjoy and limited-time game modes to discover.
