Hello everyone, hello to all, this is Quill from the Metropolis Chronicle for your gaming news bulletin. In this article, I wanted to talk to you about climbing and poetry. Rest assured, everything is fine because it is indeed a video game that I am talking about with my recent favorite JUSANT.
The game is developed and published by Don't Nod. It has been available since October 30, 2023 on all platforms and naturally on Xbox. It is already available on Xbox Game Pass. We had the opportunity to see a first trailer during the Microsoft showcase on June 11, and I must say it piqued my curiosity. I was very eager to discover this title.
Conquering the Skies
As I was saying, I was very eager to discover this multifaceted game. One of the reasons, if not the main one, is that it is from the studio that brought us the excellent Life Is Strange. Do we need any more assurance of quality to even want to explore the adventure that awaits us? The game opens with a beautiful cinematic, hinting at a lovely storyline.
It only takes a few seconds of gameplay before I attempt to climb my first wall. On the gameplay side, it will take a few minutes of adaptation since the developers have imagined a system based on alternating triggers. Each representing an arm of our hero. I admit it wasn't just a walk in the park. While alternating triggers might seem like a good idea, the system tested my patience. I often failed, fell, and ended up back at the starting point. It was then that I understood the game doesn't just ask you to approach a wall and try to climb it. No! It requires thought as well. Finding the best angle of attack, evaluating, anticipating so as not to get stuck.
The adventure is experienced linearly, which might displease some of you. Nevertheless, no path is marked. It will be up to you to choose the one you wish to take, making the experience even more unique. Imagine playing the same game as your friends but in a different way! The game alternates between narrow corridors and larger areas. Many items will also be discovered, allowing you to better know and understand the place you are evolving in. The game is also very, very contemplative. I spent many moments observing the landscape unfolding before my eyes.
A Difficult Summit to Reach
But if you think Jusant is just a small adventure (about 3 hours to reach the summit), that is not the case. Because the mountain is not easily tamed. Your rope will be your best ally. Do not neglect it, or it will cost you. Also, remember to keep an eye on your endurance. It decreases as you climb. Ignoring it will be fatal.
My Opinion
JUSANT is an incredible game! Its extremely meticulous art direction, its exceptional musical environment (available on all streaming platforms), and the intensity of its adventure. Everything is gathered to make your adventure as beautiful and unique as possible. It has been for me and continues to be since, as I write these lines, my journey is not quite finished yet. Once again, the lines that followed are only the result of one thing: my feelings. Therefore, they are in no way a truth. The best way to form a real opinion is to play JUSANT without further delay. That's all for today, but we'll be back very soon with a new gaming news bulletin. This was Quill wishing you a good day in Metropolis.
