With Rainbow Six Siege X, Ubisoft is going to blow up the formula
This year is quite special for Rainbow Six Siege as the game will celebrate its 10th anniversary. A rather exceptional longevity that we owe to the work of the developers. They have constantly enriched the content of the title and adjusted the gameplay according to community feedback. To extend the franchise's aura, which stems from the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six license, Ubisoft even released a pocket experience under the sweet name of Rainbow Six Mobile. Now, another revolution is underway.
An experience that will be renewed
If you've tasted the experience, you already know, R6 Siege is a first-person shooter that focuses on teamwork. Close combat is intense, requiring elaborate strategies to win. Over the years, new Agents have joined the cast, gameplay has been adjusted, maps have been added, and many other elements have enriched the experience, including several themed events.
This year, R6 Siege will blow out ten candles. It's not an anniversary like any other, especially in the video game universe. While some titles struggle to find their community, Ubisoft's game has managed to gather a hardcore fan base while attracting new players. To continue celebrating anniversaries, the developers will celebrate the 10 years with a major evolution.
It's not R6 Siege 2, it's not a sequel. Ubisoft prefers to capitalize on the existing experience to continue growing it rather than trying to replace it. Nevertheless, fans should expect an update that will bring much deeper changes. The publisher promises a profound transformation, with new ways to play and enhanced tactical gameplay. To unveil all the upcoming novelties, Ubisoft will organize an event called Rainbow Six Siege X Showcase. It will be held on March 13, 2025, at 6 PM. While the event will take place physically in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, a live broadcast will of course be provided on Twitch.
While waiting for the big day, let's note that Y10S1 (Year 10 Season 1) will arrive very soon. Among the major new features to remember, there is the addition of the attacker Rauora who uses a D.O.M. cannon to activate or deactivate an iron curtain blocking or unblocking exits. It will also be an opportunity to discover the new reputation system, currently being tested, which aims to penalize toxic players.
