Hello everyone, hello to all, here is Quill from the Metropolis Chronicle for your gaming news bulletin. In this article, I will talk to you one last time about the GAME I was most looking forward to this September: Starfield.
Starfield has landed
I have been talking to you about it all summer, and Starfield arrived on September 6th, and I wanted to talk about it one last time before turning the page, by sharing my first impressions.
An extraordinary adventure
So, it has been twelve days now (thanks to early access to the collector's edition) that I have been adventuring nonstop. The pleasure of finally being able to play Starfield is indescribable. I readily admit to being a long-time fan of Bethesda. I loved the Fallout series (even 76 pleased me.) I loved The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim even more. However, I want to clarify that being a fan does not mean being blind. I am and will always be, as much as possible, objective about my different viewpoints. Because although the game is a true gaming and graphic gem, it is not without imperfections. But before talking about its flaws, I will focus on its many qualities.
An ode to adventure
Everything in the game is designed to make you want to go on an adventure. To take control of a spaceship and discover what lies at the far reaches of the galaxy. From the very first moments, the adventure grabs you and offers a multitude of possibilities. Whether you want to focus on the main storyline or prefer to wander, everything is possible.
Some small flaws
As I mentioned earlier, Starfield is a true graphical experience. However, the developers have sometimes been stingy. Let me explain.
I would have liked the game not to offer so many transitions and fades in its animations. We are led to use the "metro" many times. Instead of offering us a nice journey (as all games have done since 2013), all the trips benefit from an ellipsis. It would have been good for the game to give the player the choice to enjoy or not this moment which may seem trivial.
Children of the sky
Let's talk a bit about the magnificent OST, which is a character in its own right. Once again, the Studio made a big impact by partnering with the band Imagine Dragons to offer the track: Children of the Sky. This piece is simply perfect and completes an already very successful ensemble.
A little closer to the stars
I will now focus on the collector's edition, called Constellation Edition . If on that side Bethesda has been able to disappoint its fans in the past, it is not the case with Starfield. Indeed, for this new game, the company has gone all out. Already in terms of price, because to acquire this edition, I had to spend the sum of 299€. All in pre-order.
But once that's said, what did I really get? An incomparable item. This Constellation Edition is magnificent, starting with the metal box in which the connected watch is located. The latter (non-touch) will allow you to receive various notifications from your phone, calculate the number of daily steps. But also to observe the different phases of the moon or even more. Additionally, the "Chronomark" comes with two straps, one plastic and the other fabric. As I mentioned earlier, things have been really well done since a dedicated app is available on iOS and Android. The icing on the cake, the case also contains a starry patch, again perfectly executed.

But that's not all. The steelbook containing the badge and the download code is just as beautiful. The small golden badge on which the game code is engraved is a collector's item in itself. It is certain that the price will deter some of you. Owning this collector's version is a real bonus. Nevertheless, the most important thing remains to be able to play the game and above all to enjoy playing the game. The rest is just a bonus, even if it's a very, very nice bonus.
I wish all those who want to discover Starfield to do so, as this game is a phenomenon. To say that it is the big favorite for the G.O.T.Y. there is only one step. Answer at the end of the year.
That's all for today but we'll see you very soon for a new gaming news bulletin. It was Quill who wishes you a good day in Metropolis.
