Netflix unveils the official trailer for Stranger Things: Chronicles of 1985

The event series Stranger Things concluded on January 1st. The absence of a Season 6 does not mean the end of the stories related to the universe developed by the Duffer brothers. Several spin-off projects exist, including a play and an animated series. As the release date of the latter approaches, Netflix wanted to remind us by unveiling the official trailer.

A winter story

After experiencing an intense adventure, disrupting the daily routine and playing with emotional levers, it must be quite difficult to return to normal. This is somewhat the feeling that emanates from the official trailer of Stranger Things: Chronicles of 1985. This animated series will invite fans of the franchise to discover a new adventure that takes place between the events of Seasons 2 and 3. We find ourselves in 1985 (a big hint is in the title of this spin-off) with Eleven and the other iconic characters modeled quite faithfully. 

A monster appears in the real world while the portal is still closed. The group investigates the situation accordingly, while integrating a new character who discovers what the Upside Down is. The synopsis is set. For the rest, we will have to wait until April 23, 2026, as the platform with the red N prefers to keep many surprises up its sleeve to surprise the fans.

While its chronological placement inevitably targets those who have already watched the original series, it should not be overlooked that this format also presents itself as a new entry point to immerse oneself in the universe of Matt and Ross Duffer. Moreover, the duo supervises the production entrusted to Eric Robles, a producer specialized in animation. He is notably known for Fanboy and Chum Chum, The X's, and Glitch Techs. As the trailer suggests, this new series will indeed capture the essence of the saga, namely young people confronted with a paranormal mystery. 

With its sleek style borrowing certain codes from animated series of the 80s, while retaining some modern elements, Stranger Things: Chronicles of 1985 should be one of the phenomena of the spring, even if the story takes place during winter.
