Xalatath
World of WarcraftAug 30, 20244 min read

Dive back into the battle and protect Azeroth from the shadows emerging from the depths. Venture into unknown underground worlds, filled with hidden mysteries and perils, and descend to the dark corners of the Nerubian empire. There, the formidable Void messenger is gathering an arachnid army to annihilate Azeroth.

Head into battle from the first days of launch

Although those who pre-purchased the Epic Edition were able to discover the underground worlds early, The War Within has been available worldwide since August 27, and already the top players are grinding achievements.

New allies of the alliance arrive to annihilate the shadows

A new playable allied race makes its appearance in The War Within: the Earthen. Unlock these unique characters by completing their specific quests and the progression campaign. Join the ranks of this race shaped by the Titans and made of living stone by lending them a hand.

The heroes and heroines of Azeroth are called to support the Earthen and find a way to restore harmony and revitalize their population. You also have the option to unlock them as a playable race and choose to join the Horde or the Alliance. Your adventure will then begin at level 10 in their capital, Dornogal. To learn more about this new race, this article explores their history and characteristics.

A new battlefield and farming area emerges

Khaz Algar, a land filled with perils, yet begging to be explored. Buried deep within the underground worlds, where Xal'atath gathers malevolent forces determined to annihilate Azeroth. Brimming with hidden wonders and dangers, Khaz Algar and its regions such as the Isle of Dorn, the Resounding Abysses, and Holy Fall will be your new playground for you and your battalion.

Together we are stronger

With the arrival of The War Within in World of Warcraft, the new battalion system will allow the grouping of progression, items, and other elements of all characters on the same Battle.net account within the same region.

Players will no longer need to log in individually to each character for these elements to be synchronized. However, a waiting period may be necessary during the first login for the system to process the battalion. Characters will be displayed together on the selection screen, but it may sometimes be necessary to select their specific realm to use certain in-game services.

To be stronger, nothing beats a little heroic talent

With the arrival of the expansion The War Within, a new feature will be available, heroic talents for World of Warcraft classes. These talents represent a sustainable way to progress your characters by adding new powers and roles to each class specialization. Each heroic talent tree has eleven nodes. The first is unlocked at the same time as the system itself, at level 71, then you get a talent point for each level from 71 to 80. You can therefore acquire all the talents of the tree at level 80.

Each heroic talent tree has a "fundamental" talent that illustrates its basic mechanics and concept. This talent can introduce a new technique, provide an improvement to an existing technique or adjust a cooldown, or even offer a new enhancement to activate. The talent located at the base of each tree is considered "final" because it reinforces the central theme of the tree or deepens the fundamental talent.

Why walk when you can ride a dragon

Dragon riding remains a staple, appearing in Dragonflight under the name of dragon riding, dynamic flight allows increasing the number of mounts that can be used with this system, and it is available for many flying mounts in all areas where flying is possible. Players can also alternate between dynamic flight and the flight style originally available in The Burning Crusade (TBC), which we call "regular flight".

You can easily identify mounts offering dynamic flight from the battalion Collections tab (Shift-P), which bears the mention "dynamic flight". You can switch from dynamic flight to regular flight by clicking on the "dynamic flight" icon in the middle of the interface and selecting "Change flight style" in the dropdown menu, directly in the mount collection. It is important to note that any mount that does not support dynamic flight will not be able to fly if it is active. You can also open your unlocked skills there.

Most flying mounts can be used for dynamic flight, except for some of them, like the ottermund carrier otter, certain fish mounts, and brooms.

Will a dragon be enough to defeat Xal'atath? In doubt, find the items from the World of Warcraft collection just here and equip yourself to defend Azeroth!
