Surprise, Ubisoft has just opened the universe of the Rainbow Six franchise to more players by releasing a top-down shooter with an isometric view, tinged with rogue-lite. Its name? Rainbow Six SMOL, with SMOL coming from the play on words with “small.” Its particularity? It is a game exclusively reserved for Netflix members who can play it on iOS and Android. Welcome to a smaller, funny, and whimsical version of R6!

Size doesn't matter
Leaving aside the first-person view, Rainbow Six SMOL adopts a camera offering a top-down view. The title invites players to embody a Rainbow recruit who must lead a team of Operators, each with their own abilities, weapons, and passive bonuses. By visiting the consultants' shop, you can, for example, recruit Thermite, Ash, Sledge, or Alibi, well-known Operators from R6 Siege. At the head of this team, you face ten enemy factions through five game modes. Enjoy defusing bombs, freeing hostages, and kicking the bad guys' butts. Plus, everything is destructible, leaving no one safe and making C4 a choice ally. Losing is not an option since, in case of failure, the Rainbow recruit dies permanently, requiring you to start from scratch. Winning, however, grants experience points and in-game currency to buy weapons and upgrades.
