Assassin's Creed Black Flag is a highly appreciated installment by players, which managed to captivate thanks to its universe based on piracy and naval battles. A little over 12 years after its release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the title will make a grand return thanks to a remake that was officially announced last month and has just been unveiled by Ubisoft. Video showcasing the work done, information, PC version specifications, editions, and release date, you'll discover everything.

A dazzling remake thanks to the Anvil engine

Time flies. For the older ones, playing Assassin's Creed Black Flag feels like a memory from yesterday, as the game is so memorable. Yet, it's been over 12 years. In the meantime, we've changed console generations twice. However, AC Black Flag is undoubtedly one of the most appreciated installments, along with those of the Ezio trilogy. It is therefore quite logical to see that Ubisoft wants to bring the title back into the spotlight. For this, they will not settle for a simple port. No, the French publisher sees bigger. Indeed, with Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S players will be able to enjoy a real remake.

The game has been entirely reworked with the Anvil engine. The visuals are thus modernized, as you can see in the presentation video. But that's not all, the development team took the opportunity to revise the gameplay, improve stealth and parkour, include parry-based combat, and give more depth to naval mechanics, in addition to integrating a reimagined song in collaboration with Woodkid. It will be great to reunite with our dear Edward Kenway and all the great names of piracy like Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, and Calico Jack.

As the cherry on top, Ubisoft also announces that this Resynced version will feature new narrative content. Enough to invite all those who know the base adventure to indulge in this remake to discover even more. As for those who have not yet experienced the adventure, it will be an opportunity to discover it in the best possible conditions. You will just have to wait until July 9 to be able to play it, knowing that the title will also be available on Ubisoft+.

Three editions to choose from

If you want to discover the base experience, without frills, Ubisoft will invite you to opt for the Standard edition offered at €59.99. By adding €10, you can get the Deluxe edition which will include the base game and two packs, namely the Master Assassin character pack, which will gather an outfit for Edward, swords, pistols, and a trinket with unique advantages, and the Master Assassin naval pack. The latter will include a set of sails, a pet, a crew costume, a bar, a figurehead, and a hull figure.

Finally, collectors, also attached to physical products, can turn to the Collector's edition at €199.99. Logically, this will include all the content of the Deluxe edition and add: an exclusive steelbook, a metal pin, a 31 cm Edward Kenway statue, a fabric world map, the main character's logbook, and a sea shanty sheet music. The little extra is that all those who pre-order their exemplary will have the bonus right to the Blackbeard Crimson pack including an exclusive outfit for Edward, a pair of sabers, and a set of pistols.
