Star Wars needs no introduction. Launched in 1977 with Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope, George Lucas's saga has spanned the ages. Movies, series, video games, merchandise, etc., the franchise is a true commercial success that continues to thrive. It even has a special day in the calendar, May 4th. Why that date? Simply because it allows us to say "May the 4th be with you," echoing "May the force be with you," a famous line translated into French as "Que la Force soit avec toi." All this to say that May is the month dedicated to Star Wars. Epic Games is well aware of this and announces several new experiences.
Star Wars strengthens its presence
Content related to Star Wars in Fortnite is not unprecedented. Nevertheless, fans of the galaxy far, far away are invited to discover new experiences this month, particularly thanks to the developers using the official Star Wars toolbox launched last month. This has allowed creativity to flourish, offering hundreds of islands dedicated to Star Wars experiences. Several contents have been accessible since May 1st, including three new games from Epic Games and Lucasfilm.
The first, named Galactic Siege (island code: 5003-9856-3648), is a production by JOGO Studios. It invites players to battle on several iconic planets from the franchise in 10 vs. 10 showdowns. The second, Escape Vader (island code 7285-4185-5428), as the name suggests, requires players to escape from Darth Vader. This creation by Beyond Creative takes the form of a four-player cooperative survival game. The third, Droid Tycoon (island code 7865-8305-9184), offers the chance to build droids using authentic plans. Forget combat or survival; the experience focuses on management to encourage the development of your workshop. It's signed by FOAD. Of course, several weekly quests will be on the agenda with rewards up for grabs.
An island not to miss and more content in the shop
This month is an important one for fans of the franchise as a new feature film by Jon Favreau will hit theaters, namely Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. On May 19th, just before the screening, you can visit the Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party island to discover a nice surprise, namely a first preview of the film lasting about ten minutes accompanied by a word from the director. But that's not all; if you decide to settle on the island, you can then take on the role of a deputy to search for Grogu.
You can thus explore Nevarro to try to unlock an exclusive loading screen, in addition to collecting bounties and facing waves of enemies to defend the city. Finally, shortly after the official release of the film, a new event will be organized. You will be invited on May 26th to join Jon Favreau for a Q&A session. It's an opportunity to learn more about this new feature film with a star-studded cast including Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White.
Finally, Fortnite players can visit the in-game shop to discover new content. Skins, Star Wars items, there's everything you need to get into the colors of the franchise. A little bonus, the LEGO Fortnite experience Odyssey will also feature Star Wars content. You will just need to wait until May 14. On that date, those who play it will be able to discover Mando and Grogu, various key enemies of the saga, and even hovercraft vehicles.
