Ubisoft has just kept its promise. Assassin's Creed Mirage, which recently celebrated its two-year anniversary, has just received a major update. As we detailed in this article published in our columns, it brings a slew of new features. It was particularly anticipated for the integration of the new adventure Valley of Memory (or Vallée des souvenirs in French) but also for the addition of new difficulty settings, Animus sequences, and parkour improvements. Let's take stock.
Substantial free content...
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a somewhat unique title, far from the abundant content of the Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, or even more recently Shadows installments. It is a game that presents itself as a return to the roots of the franchise, as a more intimate vision allowing players to focus on the essentials: Basim's story and parkour. With this approach, the title has managed to seduce fans and welcome new players. Even if some people have not yet discovered it, many must have already seen the end of the story, as AC Mirage was released in October 2023, now more than two years ago.
Ubisoft does not intend to leave it aside. On the contrary, the publisher has just deployed a new update, namely Valley of Memory. And what an update! Not only is it free, but it is also packed with new features. To leave no one behind, it is available on all the game's platforms, which include PCs, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, or even on Amazon Luna. Those playing via Ubisoft+ are also included. Since Assassin's Creed Mirage is also available on iOS, the update will be offered on compatible Apple devices. However, a little more patience will be required, as the deployment will occur later.
The development studio integrates a new narrative arc centered on Basim, which takes place shortly before the end of the main story. Players can thus discover the 9th-century version of al-'Ula to investigate a rumor concerning the main character. What's impressive is that this free quest promises up to 6 additional hours of gameplay. A new map to discover, new contracts to complete, new targets to eliminate, and side quests are also on the program to bring variety and challenge. Aspiring musicians can even collect scores to play the oud.
With a lot of new features
If this part of the update is already substantial, know that it only represents part of the update. Indeed, the team offers much more, starting with the addition of new difficulty settings. Now, those who wish can adjust the parameters, such as stamina consumption, environmental damage, or enemy detection. Thus, everyone can experience the game in the way that suits them best.
In addition to this, those most comfortable with the parkour system can activate a few additional options to enjoy even smoother movements. This is now the case with the addition of free jumping and lateral and backward projections. Still with the aim of enhancing diversity, Ubisoft has added new tools and skills to unlock. We leave it to you to discover them in the game.
In an effort to bring even more replayability, the studio has also integrated a new system allowing replay of contracts and assassination missions. What interest would you say? Many rewards, starting with outfits, weapons, and crafting materials, are to be unlocked. Other significant bonuses include the introduction of new filters. More precisely, there are four inspired by Assassin's Creed II, AC Unity, AC Origins, and AC Odyssey.
