Since October 2025, there is no doubt that many players who enjoy war games must have played Battlefield 6, the latest installment of the franchise. Nonetheless, it is always good to expand the community. That is why Electronic Arts is offering a new free trial session. It's an opportunity to taste five game modes and discover four maps by July 6.

Trying it is adopting it...

If you haven't yet had the chance to play Battlefield 6 or haven't yet opted for the full version, Electronic Arts invites you to dive into modern warfare for free for a week. Starting today, you can download the game at no additional cost, both on PC and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Then, you will have until July 6 to enjoy the accessible content. If you decide to purchase the full version, you will keep your progress and resume your game where you left off. Otherwise, you can always continue playing REDSEC, the free-to-play version that notably offers access to the Battle Royale mode.

The publisher is bringing back the formula of the free trial introduced last March by giving access this time to 5 game modes and 4 maps. The selection is cleverly thought out since the maps in question offer a nice variety. In addition to the Eastwood and Contaminated maps, players can explore the two new maps of Season 3. Embark on Railway to Golmud, set in Tajikistan (the reinterpretation of the iconic Goldmud Railway from Battlefield 4), before exploring Cairo Bazaar, the reinterpretation of Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3. Enough to tickle the nostalgic chord of those who appreciate the previous installments.

On the game modes side, you can dive into the traditional Conquest mode. If you like objectives, you can try the Escalation mode or opt for the Breakthrough mode, which requires controlling sectors. A casual variant is also available for trial to allow beginners to start without pressure. The experience is meant to be more relaxed. Finally, the fifth and last mode offered is Tactical Obliteration. It is a new infantry-focused experience that takes the codes of the Squad Annihilation mode from Battlefield 4.

Find the target, try the gameplay adjustments

The deployment of this free trial is not accidental. It comes to accompany an update (1.3.3.0) of the game's gameplay. In addition to improving the network code, the new patch revises the weapon handling system. The development team has notably reviewed the weapon recoil, projectile speed, and their dispersion to offer a more coherent aiming system providing better control of the arsenal. Several other adjustments are included to offer a gameplay that is always more precise and enjoyable. All this can be tested within the new Wet Work event. This one requires taking high risks to complete missions as an assassin. Forget any mercy, track your targets and eliminate them to earn some rewards. Be careful, you only have until July 14 to participate.
