Season 4 of Battlefield 6 is arriving, tension is rising... And for good reason. To say this season is anticipated is an understatement since it will bring back naval battles. While we were just savoring a preview of what awaits us with a trailer that whets the appetite, Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios reveal a bit more today. Surprise, even though the focus is on what happens on the water, an exceptional partnership has been set up for those who appreciate aerial combat. The game will integrate content featuring the Top Gun license.

How to fly with style

Season 4 is about to start. More precisely, it will begin on July 21 with the Pacific Front, an update that will notably introduce the Tsuru Reef map. This battlefield will mark the return of naval battles, while offering the largest play area ever created in the history of the license. Naturally, Battlefield Studios has planned to enhance this maritime aspect by adding vehicles, refining the physics of boats, and even integrating a dynamic wave system. On August 18, the development team will launch the second of the three phases of said Season 4. As we already know, this will provide the opportunity to add another map, namely Wake Island. For the older ones, let us specify that this one comes from Battlefield 1942.

With these additions, the confrontations will take on a new dimension to give an aspect of total war. This means it will lead everyone to evolve on the water, but also on land and in the air. Precisely, for fans of aerial combat, new features are expected during the deployment of this phase 2. Indeed, Electronic Arts has partnered with Paramount Games Studio to add content related to the Top Gun license. In addition to two aircraft, namely the F-18/Super Hornet and the F-14 Tomcat, we will discover two new modes inspired by the aerial combat seen in the Top Gun movies.

This will notably be the case with Carrier Assault, which will make its debut in the franchise's history. As its name suggests, it will require destroying the enemy carrier. In addition, players of Battlefield REDSEC will discover a Survival mission exclusively reserved for aircraft. That's not all, three characters will come to life in the game. Thus, all fans of the license will find Lieutenant Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, Lieutenant Robert "Bob" Floyd, and Admiral Solomon "Warlock" Bates. The icing on the cake is that these characters will be fully voiced by their original actors, namely, respectively, Miles Teller, Lewis Pullman, and Charles Parnell. As the latter specifies, he will be "the one giving orders in the game". Finally, let us specify that phase 3 (scheduled for September 15) will invite you to participate in a new event.
