Since November 14th, everyone playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been able to discover Season 1. As we have seen, it has been rich in new features. It's not over yet because Treyarch and Activision continue to uphold a tradition, namely the addition of mid-season content. Here is S1 Reloaded.

Festive maps and modes on BO6

As expected, as announced last November, three maps are making their appearance as part of this S1 Reloaded. The first is Racket, a new small-sized map. The second is a map well known to fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It is the Hacienda map, making a grand return in a remastered version. Finally, the third is a variant of Nuketown. Simply named Nuketown Holiday, it highlights the spirit of the year-end holidays. Snow, snowmen, and festive decorations are on the agenda.

Of course, the development team had to add modes to enjoy the spirit of this end of the year. Good news, two temporary modes are on the agenda. The first, Sugar Rush, is already available. Forget gold, during this festive period, the goal is to collect as many cookies as possible. It's up to you to manage to gather as many as possible, whether by catching them in the spinning crate or retrieving them from the cookie box. If needed, you can always rush at opponents, eliminate them, and collect these delicious treats from their corpse. Additionally, by depositing cookies, you will receive a bonus, such as faster reloading or a speed boost.

The second, Infectious Holidays, will be available a little later. As its name suggests, this mode will be a variant of Infected. The difference is that the operators and zombies will be dressed with some festive elements.

Ranked matches arrive in Warzone

Everyone was waiting for them... A victory cry can now ring out, ranked matches are available in CoD Warzone. Head to Urzikstan to show who's the best! Of course, the developers weren't going to stop there. They took the opportunity to add the Reflex perk and organize two little CODMAS surprises. The first is the Festive Frenzy, a temporary mode that adds Christmas trees to Area 99 but also and especially coolers filled with snowballs to throw at enemies. The second will arrive a little later. Again, it's a temporary game mode. The Urzikstan map will be touched by the holiday spirit for a Deadly Tour in Resurgence. The train has been hijacked by a zombie version of Santa Claus. Players must regain control of the machine while eliminating others with deadly snowballs. Christmas trees, reindeer, garlands, and other festivities will also be part of the event.

Zombies take center stage

Besides some new weapons, the bulk of the new features are in the Zombies experience. The major addition, certainly the most anticipated since we learned of its existence, is the integration of the new map Fortress of the Dead. This castle, among the oldest monuments of Avalon, has a chilling history... But it is also the base of operations for the French Syndicate. This promises an exciting expedition for our team (Carver, Grey, Maya, and Weaver accompanied by their allies) who hope to learn more about the sentinel artifact while trying to find a new ally to join their cause, namely Gabriel Krafft. But first, they must succeed in freeing him, as he is being held hostage.

To succeed, it would be wise to familiarize yourself with the locations, especially the key points of this new map. You can explore the town square, visit the tavern cellar, cross the village heights, or take the nature trail to reach the hilltop. There, you'll discover the citadel courtyard and ramparts. After that, you can enter the premises and discover all the rooms it comprises, from the entrance hall to the dungeon, passing through the lounges, the great hall, the crypt, and even the dungeons.

Beware, among all these zombies that will assault you, there is a new threat, the Doppelghast, a "double horror" with two heads that will try to grab you with its tentacles. To help you fight against all these creatures, you can rely on a weapon... Or rather weapons. The bastard sword will allow you to slice through all the undead that stand in your way, but it can transform into one of the four elemental wonder weapons, namely Caliburn, Durendal, Balmung, and Solais, each with its special attack.

Many other new features are also included, such as the vulture elixir (a drinkable perk), the light healer (a new ammo mod to deal light damage), the tesla storm (a combat upgrade that projects lightning onto other players and paralyzes normal enemies), or three new GobbleGums (Powder Keg, Timeout, and Festivities). There are too many new features to list them all, but we want to focus on the addition of the Training Course - Zombies, a very handy tutorial for newcomers. A significant bonus, the studio promises to release the directed mode before the start of Season 2 to help those who have not completed the main quest to finish it.
