Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone is now

Call Of Duty Saison 2
Call of DutyJan 28, 20254 min read

In order to keep the pleasure constantly renewed, Activision and Treyarch ensure the follow-up of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone. Last November, players were able to dive into Season 1, before getting an additional dose of new features in December with S1 Reloaded. For the new year, the developers had a surprise in store: a collaboration with Netflix to integrate elements from the hit series Squid Game. Now that 2025 is well underway, it's time to move on to Season 2.

A season to reshuffle the cards

For this new season, the developers are pulling out all the stops by adding no less than five new maps. Three are already available, with the other two to be added mid-season with S2 Reloaded.

As of now, you can discover the penthouse of Avalon's crime boss in Bounty, a medium-sized map designed for 6v6 clashes. Watch out, with all the gold, you might be blinded by the opulence of the place. With Dealership, the change of atmosphere is radical. Even though it remains a medium-sized map for 6v6 combat, this one highlights a location dedicated to the resale of vehicles on the black market.

As for Lifeline, the third and last map available from today, it takes you far from the mainland. This small map designed for 2v2 or 6v6 confrontations places you on a stolen yacht for fast, dynamic, and tense encounters.

Mid-season, Bullet will take up the concept of Lifeline but will swap the yacht for a high-speed train. The configuration will push you to move forward by shooting anything that moves on sight. Finally, the fifth map of this season will be Grind, a medium-sized map that will be a remastered version of the famous skatepark introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Four game modes to spice up the matches

With the Overdrive mode, players must be extremely skilled. This variant of Team Deathmatch requires accumulating stars. The first team to reach the maximum number wins. To obtain them, eliminations must be made. Basic eliminations grant one star, headshots and melee takedowns grant two, while three stars require more originality. Naturally, in line with the game mode's name, Operators benefit from enhanced abilities as they earn 1, 3, or 6 stars. Once all abilities are enhanced, the Operator enters overdrive mode and earns double the intended stars for each elimination.

If you are more of a loner, you can turn to the famous Gun Game mode which is back for the occasion. This free-for-all requires starting the game with a defined weapon, the same for everyone. With each elimination, the weapon is replaced by the next one, with the goal being to eliminate enemies with the 20 available.

As for the other two additional modes, they will arrive for Valentine's Day. Rather than having a candlelit dinner, you can simply enjoy a three-player Skirmish mode or engage in Dance Battle for two-on-two confrontations in Team Deathmatch, Domination, or Confirmed Kill.

As a bonus, to expand tactical opportunities, developers are now integrating the Trail perk and the War Machine scorestreak. Next month, the Hunter Instinct perk will be available, along with the Joker Fly Swatter map replacing your melee weapon with a launcher.

Without delay, the fight against Zombies continues

The Zombies experience is constantly evolving. The Dark Aether has not finished revealing its secrets. After the events at the Citadel of the Dead, it is time for Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey to head toward cursed catacombs. It's up to you to discover the new map The Tomb in search of the legendary Sentinel artifact.

This new adventure comes with a few new features, including the return of Mimics in a much more electric version. Needless to say, you will need to be vigilant... Or, you will need to wield the Ice Staff and use Ethereal Lanterns to assist you in your battles.

Heading to Battle Royale

If you feel like changing the air a bit after the more traditional multiplayer, you can always head to Warzone to enjoy the Battle Royale experience. As always, the latter takes advantage of the launch of a new season to offer some new features. Besides the launch of a new ranked season to earn exclusive rewards, you can enjoy some gameplay improvements, along with various bug fixes. As a bonus, the new Reactive Armor perk makes its appearance. As its name suggests, it allows you to regenerate your armor. A Low Profile perk will also be implemented mid-season to improve movement speed when the Operator is crouched, prone, or downed.
