Hello everyone, hello to all here Quill from the Metropolis Chronicle for your gaming news bulletin. On Friday, November 10, the long-awaited Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III was released on consoles and PC. What should we expect from a game released only a year after its predecessor? For many fans of the series, this new installment arrives way too soon and is more like a DLC than a real new adventure. This is something Activision has clearly denied. It is also important to remember the stakes for Microsoft which, after long months, managed to acquire this huge license. So, a real success or a blank shot?

Delta, do you read me?

I'll be the most honest, the game doesn't revolutionize anything. Its single-player mode is relatively short. But unlike many, this didn't bother me. Indeed, I prefer a short but gripping and interesting scenario to experience and play rather than a long story without real stakes. So yes, the campaign mode ends quickly, less than 5 hours in my case, but those are hours that I really enjoyed.

Each to their own mission

The big novelty of this COD MW III is entirely open missions. Once the cinematic is over, the mission can begin. You then choose the path to take and what your first objective will be. Nothing is imposed on you. It's up to you to determine the best approach. Whether it's discreet or more explosive. During these different missions, you will find many chests containing weapons, equipment, and other accessories scattered on the map. I really appreciated being able to approach the missions the way I deemed most appropriate. And when it turned out to be a failure, I had the possibility to try differently. This possibility is a big plus and I want more.

The big strength of this installment is the visual aspect. It is still as beautiful in-game and I'm not even talking about the cinematics which are incredible. The lighting effects, the reflections of the water allow you to appreciate the adventure even more.

A multiplayer that delivers

If the single-player mode is not without reproach, COD MW III can count on rather successful multiplayer modes. The game offers 16 maps. Although these are only remastered versions of older installments of the series, the work is done and well done. So let's not deny ourselves the pleasure of enjoying a successful multiplayer. COD MW III obviously plays on nostalgia and it works no matter what anyone says. If like me you spent hours on the CODs of the mid-2000s, you are sure to spend a lot of time on these different maps.

That's all for today but we'll see you soon for a new gaming news bulletin. It was Quill wishing you a good day in Metropolis.
