The indispensable Mariah Carey adds the holiday spirit to Fortnite Battle Royale
A little before the start of the year-end holiday season, Epic Games gives a big gift to Fortnite fans. The famous Mariah Carey, a world-renowned artist, arrives in Battle Royale mode with some gifts. Let's see what Mother Christmas has in store for us.
Let's go for Winterfest 2024
It's winter, it's holiday season, so it's time for publishers and development studios to give some gifts to players. Epic Games made a big move by managing to integrate Mariah Carey. She inaugurates the Winterfest 2024 of Fortnite Battle Royale. To mark the occasion properly, the annual end-of-year holiday celebration kicks off to the tune of "All I Want For Christmas Is You." This song, created in 1994, quickly became a staple of the season.
But that's not all, as the queen of Christmas is also integrated into the island. She has just emerged from her block of ice and is accompanied by a good snowfall on the island. Moreover, if you manage to find her, you can dance with her and leave with a gift, namely an item to throw to discover the loot it contains.
To mark the arrival of winter, developers have made two small changes to the gameplay. The first is the integration of the blizzard grenade. As its name suggests, it is used like an explosive grenade. The difference is that when it explodes, it releases a blizzard that hits exposed players, slowing them down while dealing damage. The second is the addition of icy feet, a gimmick that allows for faster movement, even on water.

Of course, as always, you have your share of themed quests to earn more EXP. As a little bonus, you can access the Winterfest lodge during the period via the snowflake tab. This allows you to relax and open gifts, one per day until January 7th. Among them, there's a Snoop Santa outfit. By staying by the fire, you can also grab a few extra EXP points.
Finally, it's in the shop that developers have placed the most novelties. Several Christmas-themed packs are available, starting with the one dedicated to Mariah Carey. This includes two outfits for the star, the glamorous golden one and the Mother Christmas one, their LEGO version, two back blings, an emote, but also and above all the music track All I Want For Christmas Is You.
To this, add the Sapin Guff pack (with the Sapin Guff outfit and its LEGO version), the Shaq Santa pack (with his special holiday outfit and its LEGO version), the Snowy Soldier pack (again with her winter outfit and LEGO version) and the Snoop Dogg | Cadillac pack. The latter includes the chassis of the 1966 Cadillac Deville with a wrapped Snoop sticker, three additional stickers, and the SD Whitewall tires.
