The Game Pass for December 2023

SteamWorld Build
SteamWorld Build is a game that mixes several genres. It is developed by The Station and published by Thunderful Publishing. Initially, players will have to create, develop, and manage a mining town on an extraterrestrial planet. From building houses to roads and all the necessary equipment for the well-being of the population, everything is gathered for you to build a great city. I said players because the game is actually a cooperative multiplayer. Each person will have a mission to fulfill for your future city to become prosperous.
I started by specifying "initially." Indeed, in a second phase, players will be able to access mining wells that have been repaired beforehand. Once descended into the bowels of the earth, you will access an abandoned mine in search of a very ancient technology that could allow you to leave this hostile planet. But before getting there, you will have to recruit miners and ensure their well-being. There is no doubt that many hours of gameplay await us.
I haven't had the chance to test this SteamWorld Build yet, but the game includes everything I love. Construction, management, and cooperation. The game arrives on December 1st, and I can't wait to give you feedback.
Against the Storm
Here too, it's a management game we are dealing with. But the comparison with the previous game stops here. Indeed, Against the Storm is a solo game. Developed by Eremite Games, the game was released on October 18, 2021. A small peculiarity of this game, which I wanted to tell you about, will arrive on December 8 but only on Game Pass PC.
Your task will be to reconquer wild lands and recover lost riches. All to rebuild the city in which you will evolve. Because importantly, this city is the last bastion of civilization. Unlike most construction games of this type, in Against the Storm, you must build a vast network of prosperous colonies populated by different races, each with their own specializations and needs.
As its title suggests, your main enemy will be the constant and devastating storms. In fact, it was one of these storms that destroyed the old world. A small peculiarity that is important, Against the Storm is a roguelite city-building game. In short, you will retain the resources, upgrades, and experience from your previous expeditions each time you start over.
