It's the thought that explodes in my mind every morning when I wake up, and it has the same effect on me as twelve very strong coffees (which is why I don't drink them, by the way).
A new season is arriving, and do you know what that means? A celebration is being prepared: THE great annual celebration of the eight philosophies that guide our universe.
I am primarily an Architect. Which, of course, means that I participate in setting up the pavilion that will personify my philosophy.
The festivities will manifest in many ways, but what will capture the attention of the Fulllife Universe is still the presentation of the eight new legendary items.
I already know the one that will be displayed by my people - obviously - and they have worked hard to create a hoodie that is worthy of our builder character. I was initially skeptical about the idea of building a structure in ASCII mode, but I must admit it looks really impressive.
But what really scares me are the Explorers. For several weeks now, I've been hearing rumors about their legendary item. My buddy Calvin heard that they outdid themselves by proposing the most unexpected object in the Fulllife Universe.
But what could that possibly mean? How could they have created a garment more unexpected than what we've already produced?
And that's when Calvin dropped those few words on me that still haunt me:
— Apparently, it's not even a garment!
But what could it be if it's not a garment? I bombarded him with questions:
— So what? A mug? A pin? A belt? Because we've already done all that!
He just shook his head enigmatically:
— I don't know, but I was told it's bigger than that!
But what could it be?
There are about ten days left before the celebrations begin. Calvin wasn't as eager as I was to find out. He told me we just had to wait and that we would know when the time came. But Calvin is not like me… after all, he is 50% a Chill Order.
Today, I decided I needed an answer. If there's one place where I could find out, it's in Portugal, the plan where all the items are produced. By asking the right questions to the right person, I'm sure I can solve this mystery.
I'm lucky to have an apartment in the heart of Metropolis. Okay, we hear a lot of city noise, but when the sky is clear, the endless ballet of capsules flying at high speed is magnificent to see.
I also live right next to an FL Podlink station and I stride there.
As soon as I'm outside, I can feel how close the new season is. Nothing like the spring, summer, autumn, winter transition of the other world, but the atmosphere is changing, the colors too. Some say it's imperceptible, but not for me, not for the Architects: I feel deep in my body that our universe is expanding to make room for new maps and side quests. I love that feeling. There is excitement in the air.
Another notable change is that there are more CTS Capsules in the sky. As if, in preparation for this beautiful event, the Players of the real world are giving their all to collect the points they need to access the legendary items of this season before they disappear.
I see many NPCs heading towards the brand new stadium that was built for the occasion, after all, it's the place where a large part of the celebrations will be concentrated. I go in the opposite direction, going against the flow in this river of human forms, brushing against each other without ever touching.
The FL Podlink station is deserted and I immediately slip into an empty capsule. I brush the controls to indicate my destination. The letters "PORTUGAL" flash in green for a few seconds before departure.

Instantly, the landscape changes around me and I find myself facing gigantic fields of organic cotton, each flower the size of a large balloon.
My Pod opens and I get out immediately. I don't have a single minute to lose. I have no valid reason to come here today and I don't want to answer any questions that might be asked. After all, I'm here to spy on other philosophies.
I quickly spot one of the vast buildings, this one entirely made of bamboo, where some of the items are created. I know Arlow well, a Creator who oversees the process.
He seems surprised to see me but welcomes me with a big wave:
— What are you doing here?
— I just had a small question to ask you.
— Of course, what can I do for you?
I hesitate for a moment, but now that I'm here, I might as well dive in:
— It's about the legendary item of another philosophy.
— I'll stop you right there, he says, raising a hand. You know very well that I'm not allowed to talk to you about it!
He then turns his back on me. I don't know if it's to continue his work or simply to end the conversation.
— But Arlow... I heard that the Explorers created the most unexpected item of...
— Aaah, it's about the Explorers, he cuts me off with a smile. In that case, it's different.
— How is it different?
My question seems to amuse him greatly. He tells me in one breath:
— I'm not in the secret either. I simply can't tell you anything because their item is not produced in Portugal.
I shake my head. I'm not sure I understand:
— But what does that mean? All items in the Fulllife Universe come from Portugal!
— Not that one!
I feel like screaming. Calling him a liar. Insisting. It's just not possible.
— Where could they possibly be making it then? I ask.
For the first time in the conversation, Arlow seems troubled. He shrugs:
— I have no idea. That's the whole advantage of being an Explorer I guess... they must have unlocked a new map.
— Without telling us?
— You know as much as I do.
We face each other for a moment in silence. The conversation has reached a dead end.
A delighted grin appears on his face again when he tells me:
— However... I can tell you another secret. I'm so eager to reveal our new legendary item. This year, the Creators are going to offer a...
I interrupt him with a wave of my hand:
— I'm not interested. It's the Explorers' one that scares me.
— OK. Well in that case, you won't learn it here. You can leave.
His tone is dry and cutting. He clearly didn't take well my lack of curiosity for their new contribution.
— Sorry, you can tell me about your item if you want.
— No, it's useless. I can see you don't care. Have a good day.
He turns away again and I understand that the conversation is definitely over.
I retrace my steps to a transport Pod to return to Metropolis. I don't know where to start to discover the nature of this new item.
I decide to return to the stadium where I can help prepare the celebrations. With a bit of luck, the rumors are false and the Explorers won't draw all the attention with this surprise. I try to forget about this whole story. I have no way to unravel this mystery after all. Unless! I see an Explorer heading towards the exit. By tracking him, he might lead me to this unknown new map where they produce their item. I decide to follow him...
