Since the release of Halo Infinite in December 2021, 343 Industries has been working on the game's follow-up. Earlier this year, during the Halo Community Livestream, the developers announced that they would stop the Season system to focus on Operations. Essentially, this allows them to release updates more regularly, rather than having to wait a few months to align with the seasonal approach. For the record, this search for flexibility was implemented in Halo: The Master Chief Collection (after the Mythic season).
The Spirit of Fire
Before embarking on the operation, it's good to dress up, or at least wear a nice armor. Fortunately, 343 Industries offers all fans the Mark IV armor core. This Spirit of Fire operation, themed around Halo Wars, also allows you to enjoy a new free 20-level Battle Pass with rewards. You have until March 5 to take advantage and thus obtain unique armor accessories, emblems, or even coatings and weapon charms. Fans of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo Wars will even be delighted to discover the Evolved MA5, a weapon model that transforms the modern MA40 into an assault rifle reminiscent of the MA5B.

A map that creates Illusion, a Forge in evolution
Content update 29, affectionately known as CU29, adds a new arena map described as a love letter to the Halo CE map. Illusion, as it's called, takes you to an abandoned ONI site where Covenant technology can be found. Its peculiarity is that there is a corridor that renders players who venture into it invisible, granting them active camouflage. Finally, the Forge also benefits from some new features, starting with the addition of a Covenant object palette, a Creator mode, and improvements to the AI Toolkit.
