The French cards of Riftbound are coming: here is the release schedule

At the end of 2024, Riot Games unveiled a new project then called Project K. It was a collectible card game (TCG) based on the universe of League of Legends. While the idea might be surprising, it makes sense to see the studio trying to expand the influence of the franchise, as with the fighting game 2XKO, which has just welcomed Akali to the roster. After months of development and the release of a set in Chinese and English, it's time to welcome the sets in French. Riot Games thus presents the release roadmap. 

Collection, game, universe, the strength of TCGs

TCGs, collectible card games, are very popular right now. They allow combining the pleasure of collecting, the search for the rarest cards, and the joy of rediscovering elements from our favorite universes. While these are not new, with Magic, Pokémon, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh, or even Final Fantasy TCGs already having several years under their belt, others are emerging, like the one dedicated to the Cyberpunk 2077 universe or the one dedicated to the Karmine Corp.

For a few months now, there is also a project by Riot Games aiming to appeal to fans of the League of Legends universe, while offering an entry point to discover it starting with the cards. Its name? Riftbound. While connoisseurs can already get the cards in their Chinese or English version (since October 31), all French speakers are waiting for the localization in the language of Molière. Rest assured, the French cards are coming! Riot Games has just confirmed it by unveiling the release schedule for the expansions. 

Agenda, pen: ready, take notes!

Thus, the first set, "Origines", will be available for sale starting May 29, 2026. Interested people can buy boosters, champion decks, and discover "Premiers pas". Certainly, with the release of the English set Unleashed set for May 8, French-speaking players will be slightly behind. Indeed, they will have to wait until July 24 to get the French editions of the "Armes spirituelles" boosters and the "Déchaînement" boosters, in addition to the "Déchaînement" champion decks. 

A few days later, the English and Chinese Vendetta sets will be offered for sale. Therefore, it will be necessary to wait until October 23, 2026, for everyone to be up to date, with the release of the Radiance set, both in English, Chinese, and French. On the same day, French speakers will catch up by discovering the French Vendetta boosters. 

Riot Games also wants to reassure everyone by indicating that stores "will always have the possibility to order Riftbound items in English, even during and after the release of the French sets". Finally, to help you easily locate a retailer near you, you can use this tool.
