Spyro sets the Xbox Game Pass on fire

Spyr Reignited Trilogy
XboxNov 12, 20242 min read

This is the surprise of the day, before unveiling the list of titles that will join the Xbox Game Pass during the second half of November, Xbox is making a major addition. If you have already explored the Game Pass program of the first half of November, then you will be delighted to know that you can now dive into Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

The dragon returns all fired up

This November 12, 2024, is a great day for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers (Game Pass Standard, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate). Indeed, they can now enjoy Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the compilation of the revamped versions of three major games from the first PlayStation. These are the ones that make up the first Spyro trilogy. It means having access to the remakes of Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

The very first Spyro was released in 1998. Developed by Insomniac Games, the title asked players to embody the famous dragon and roam the Dragon Realms to fight Gnasty Gnorc, a vile character who turned Spyro's dragon friends into crystals. Gliding and breathing fire, our famous character left a mark on PlayStation history.

The following year, the development studio returned to offer a direct sequel. Thinking he could enjoy a well-deserved vacation with his friend Sparx, dear Spyro goes to Avalar. Everything is fine until the arrival of Ripto and his minions Crush and Gulp, who jeopardize the peace of this paradise world. Spyro is the designated savior. He embarks on the adventure and learns new abilities along the way.

No rest for the brave. In 2000, just a year after the release of Spyro 2, Insomniac Games offered the third installment of its trilogy. This time, it is an evil witch who has stolen dragon eggs. To save them, Spyro takes on the task once again. He makes new allies and learns new skills. If you haven't yet experienced the original adventures or are looking to (re)discover them with more modern visuals, this Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a little gem by Toys for Bob that you definitely shouldn't miss.
