Xbox Game Pass - The December program, including Indiana Jones
With the integration of Nine Sols, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and Aliens: Dark Descent, subscribers to the PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate enjoyed a nice end to November 2024. As December has just begun, it's time to see the list of upcoming new additions to the Xbox subscription program. Note, unusually, the Redmond firm has released the program for the entire month of December, even spilling over into early 2025. This offers a great preview of what's in store for subscribers, while enjoying the holiday season break.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
The month will start off with a bang with the integration of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled into the Game Pass Core, the Standard formula, and the Game Pass Ultimate (console only) from December 4th. Although the title has been available since June 2019, it remains a must-have for fun racing games. It is the fully remastered version by Beenox Studio of the Naughty Dog game released on the first PlayStation in 1999. All the characters from the Crash Bandicoot franchise are found aboard karts for arcade races following the Mario Kart codes. A true gem, this Deluxe remaster includes all the content from the original game, from game modes to power-ups, including characters, weapons, and tracks... But that's not all, as the developers have taken the opportunity to modernize the experience.
EA Sports WRC
The next day, December 5th, we will stay in the racing realm with the arrival of EA Sports WRC. The title will be added to EA Play, Electronic Arts' subscription service. As it is integrated into the PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, those with one of these two subscriptions will be able to enjoy it as well. Asphalt, dirt, snow, rally fans can try to drive with the utmost precision in races that require a certain finesse to achieve the best possible lap.
Overthrown
Overthrown is a game that mixes several elements to try to create a rather original recipe. It takes the form of a city-builder that requires you to build your kingdom. You also need to develop agriculture and proceed with harvests in a rather dynamic way. In addition to resource collection, the title from Brimstone requires defending the kingdom using the powers of the crown, which leads to anime-style battles. To top it all off, no pun intended, the title is playable with up to six players. It will be available for discovery starting December 5 in Game Preview via PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate (PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Cloud).
Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle
This is the big release for this December. MachineGames offers a first-person adaptation of one of the most famous adventurers in cinema. The studio provides an original story set in 1937. This means it takes place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. The big plus is that we find a digital version of Harrison Ford, the iconic actor of the adventurer with the hat and whip. Adventure, combat, and puzzles await those subscribed to PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate starting December 9. You can play it on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and via the Cloud.
Wildfrost
To conclude the list for December, starting on the 10th, Xbox will invite fans of card games and tactical and strategic rogue-like games to discover Wildfrost, available on PC, console, and via the Cloud thanks to PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate. It's up to you to collect the necessary cards to build a deck powerful enough to face the enemies. Beware, winter can prove harsh!
Carrion
To start the year 2025, Xbox will offer you the chance to (re)discover an inverted horror game in which you take control of an amorphous creature. This creature is bloodthirsty and will gain power to break free from prison. Of course, along the way, it might cause some damage to its jailers. The title has already appeared in the Game Pass, so it will return on January 2nd. Playable on PC, console, and Cloud, it will be accessible via Game Pass Standard, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate.
Road 96
On January 7th, a few days after experiencing horror, you can change the atmosphere. This time, it will be to (re)discover a beautiful road trip. Once again, the title will return to the subscription service. You can embark on the adventure starting January 7th on PC, console, or via the Cloud, provided you have Game Pass Standard, PC Game Pass, or Game Pass Ultimate. This narrative adventure involves multiple choices, each of which can determine the outcome. Note that the stories intertwine, offering some beautiful tales to discover.
The Game Pass Ultimate games joining the standard formula
On December 4th, two games available in Game Pass Ultimate will also join the Game Pass Standard formula. Thus, whether on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, you can enjoy Hauntii, a game that requires embodying a ghost to solve various puzzles, all with stunning hand-drawn visuals. As for players of Xbox Series X|S, they will also be able to enjoy Forza Motorsport, the famous racing game from Turn10. It's an opportunity to virtually drive over 500 vehicles, all while enjoying a day/night cycle and changing weather conditions.
