With summer, vacations, and everything that comes with it, Microsoft's usually well-regulated habits have experienced some disruptions. So, while we did have the schedule for the additions in the first half of August, it must be acknowledged that the list of games to be added to the Xbox Game Pass at the end of the month was eagerly awaited. Everything comes to those who wait, and the Redmond firm has just unveiled the upcoming additions, which even cover the first days of September.
Atlas Fallen
Hardly has the schedule been announced when the action RPG Atlas Fallen is added to the Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox Series X|S, with even the possibility of playing it via the Cloud. Although the Deck 13 title dates from last year, it is worth noting that it recently received a significant anniversary update called Reign of Sand. The development studio listened to the community to consider their feedback and integrate many improvements, additions, and fixes to its title. Besides adding a New Game+ mode and new Essence Stones to bring some variety to the skills, it is especially worth noting the integration of a new gameplay area and new enemies. And that's not all, as the developers have introduced additional voiceovers to energize the narration, revising the game's Campaign in the process.
Core Keeper
August 27 will be marked by the release of a brand new game called Core Keeper. This is good news, as from the day of its release, it will join the Xbox Game Pass (PC, Xbox, Cloud), allowing subscribers to the service to enjoy it at no additional cost. It will be an opportunity to explore an endless cave alone or in four-player co-op. The title will require fighting various creatures but also and above all, building your own base, crafting your equipment, and gathering resources to try to survive. Of course, to constantly renew the interest in exploration, the world is procedurally generated. You will continue to cultivate plants, cook, craft items, and fight enemies, unless you manage to gather all the necessary items to solve the mystery of the Heart.
Star Trucker
Enjoying a truck driving simulation is déjà vu. Star Trucker wants to make you dream, take you further. In fact, it invites you to take control of a jet-powered space truck to travel the space roads. Enjoy the joys of deliveries, collecting goods, and various gossip to discover thanks to your interactive CB. This will also be useful for asking for help. As a simulation, you will need to ensure the well-being of your truck. You will need to check that everything is working and avoid any degradation, otherwise, you'll need to repair... Or, the ultimate humiliation, get towed. See you on September 3, the official release day of the game, to discover it on PC, Xbox, or via the Cloud.
The pluses: Call of Duty and Game Pass Core games
If you are a regular reader of the Metropolis Chronicle columns, then you must know that it will be possible to taste Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from the end of the month. Indeed, early access will start on August 30 and it will be open to all people subscribed to the PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate.
That being said, Microsoft took advantage of this schedule update to add three new games to the Game Pass Core library. Thus, people with this subscription can now discover Cities: Skylines, Control: Ultimate Edition, and SnowRunner without spending an extra cent.
