Xbox Partner Review
XboxMar 7, 20245 min read

Recently, Xbox has focused on communication to offer a clear vision of the brand's future, as was the case during the intervention in the latest official podcast, while showing players all the experiences to be discovered on Xbox and Windows, whether they are First or Third party games. Recently, the Redmond company broadcast a 30-minute Xbox Partner Preview focusing on 14 upcoming games produced by third-party partners. Your dear Quill is keen to revisit each of them to highlight them.

Final Fantasy XIV

Like Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XIV is a somewhat unique installment as it is an MMORPG. Released in 2010 on PC, the title had a difficult start before gaining new momentum with the release the following year of a new version called Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Then, the game was deployed on PlayStation 3 in 2013 (version discontinued in 2016), PlayStation 4 in 2014, and PlayStation 5 in 2021. While Xbox players have been left out all this time, the time for change has arrived. From March 21 next year, FFXIV Online will officially land on Xbox Series X|S, but you can already play it thanks to the open beta that has been put online.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess

This solo game from Capcom's catalog is highly anticipated for its mix of genres that should offer a unique adventure requiring Soh to purify the villages of Mount Kafuku from the evil corruption that has covered them. For this, our character can wear twelve masks, each granting a unique power. The good news is that the title will be available upon release (date to be determined) in Game Pass, both on PC and Xbox Series X|S.

The Sinking City 2

The Sinking City is a game set in the universe developed by American writer H.P. Lovecraft. After managing to win over some fans of the genre, Frogwares embarked on the development of a sequel simply called The Sinking City 2. The game was unveiled during the event and provided a first glimpse of this installment, which increasingly leans towards horror gaming. This time, you will have to embody a new character who must traverse Arkham and survive its abominations.

Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass

If you have played Persona 3 Reload or were waiting for a good reason to start, know that Sega will release an Expansion Pass adding new costumes, background music, and the Aigis episode -The Answer-, a new story content.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone Trilogy

It is becoming a habit during digital events dedicated to games, Xbox likes to create surprise by doing a shadow drop, in other words by announcing the immediate availability of a game. This time, it's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone Trilogy that was added to the Store at the time of its announcement. It's available on Xbox One and allows you to enjoy Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat. Of course, you can also play it on Xbox Series X|S thanks to backward compatibility.

Unknown 9: Awakening

After more than three years of radio silence, Bandai Namco and Reflector Entertainment reconnect to unveil new images of their Unknown 9: Awakening. Besides being able to admire Haroona in action, we especially have the confirmation that the game will be released this summer on our consoles.

Tales of Kenzera: Zau

While waiting to get your hands on Tales of Kenzera: Zau, which is set to release on April 23, 2024, Surgent Studios and EA Originals offer a nice preview of the game's gameplay. Our protagonist will have to wear the mask of the sun or the moon depending on the situation to progress in a world scarred by grief and desolation. Note that it is Abubakar Salim (Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins), the creator of this new experience, who presents the gameplay.

Roblox - Griefville: Survive the Nightmare!

Notice to all people playing Roblox, the most famous killer doll from the big screen is back for a horrific experience. Chucky arrives now with Griefville: Survive the Nightmare!

Creatures of Ava

Unlike many experiences that require capturing creatures to raise and make them fight with others, Creatures of Ava offers the opportunity to save them. Do not think about skinning them and using them to craft items, here, the goal is simply to help them. This non-violent adventure from Inverge Studios allows you to step into the shoes of Vic, a human explorer, who goes to Ava, a distant planet, to embrace local customs, which requires leaving technology aside to reconnect with the earth.

Monster Jam Showdown

Iconic mechanical monsters like the Megalodon, the Grave Digger, or the Toro Loco, off-road races, loud engine noises, big wheels, look no further, Monster Trucks are back in digital form with Monster Jam Showdown. The engines will be fired up during the year on Xbox Series X|S.

The Alters

Embark on a unique solo sci-fi adventure. Play as Jan Dolski, a miner who has crashed on a planet and must do everything to escape, especially since the sun's rays are deadly. Not sufficiently qualified and desperately alone, he will use Rapidium, a substance found on the hostile planet, to create alternative versions of himself. Will he manage to repair the structure and escape? The answer will be revealed when the game is released, at a date yet to be determined, on PC and Xbox Series X|S, with Day One integration into Game Pass.

The First Berserker: Khazan

Nexon took advantage of the event to unveil a preview of the gameplay of The First Berserker: Khazan, its new game set in the universe of Dungeon & Fighter, DNF for insiders, a series of games developed by the publisher. This time, it will be about embodying Khazan, as the title of the game suggests, a hero who has been betrayed.

Frostpunk 2

The Earth is nothing more than a frozen wasteland... This is not the synopsis of Snowpiercer but indeed that of Frostpunk 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the management and survival game released in 2018 on PC and the following year on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This new installment got a new trailer but also and above all a release date. For now, it will arrive on July 24th on PC (under Windows) and will be integrated at the same time into the PC Game Pass. Note that a closed beta will be set up in April.

Sleight of Hand

Play as a witch who will infiltrate her former assembly to destroy it in this third-person espionage game. You guessed it, it will involve magic but not only, as the title will stand out from other games of the genre by basing its gameplay on the cursed card game of the city of Taboo. You will have to combine adventure, infiltration, and deckbuilding in this game by Riffraff Games expected on Xbox Series X|S. Bonus, the title will be integrated into the Game Pass.
