Between the Xbox Games Showcase and the Ubisoft Forward, fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise were well served. Just under a month after revealing the release date (November 15, 2024) of the game and a cinematic that whets the appetite, Ubisoft unveils several media, including gameplay and the presentation of the collector's edition that will be offered.

Two characters, two styles

Feudal Japan, that’s the universe that will serve as the playground for Naoe and Yasuke. We learned it during the announcement and the cinematic released at the time already suggested it: the two new characters will primarily allow players to enjoy two different styles of gameplay, in addition to discovering two intertwined destinies. The trailer below, giving a first glimpse of the gameplay, confirms it. The shinobi takes the path of stealth while the samurai prefers to confront several enemies more directly.

The strength of the Kanabo, the precision of the kunai

Naoe uses a grappling hook to eliminate enemies at close and medium range and to gain mobility. Of course, as a good assassin, she has a hidden blade, allowing her to ensure quick eliminations. Her arsenal also holds other surprises, including kunais. While she is less resistant in hand-to-hand combat, her agility allows her to move quickly and take advantage of the environment to surprise enemies. Playing with lights will be necessary.

Yasuke, on the other hand, is a samurai. With his armor, he moves more slowly, his movements have more amplitude... But he compensates with his strength and ferocity. Between his katana for precise strikes and his Kanabo to literally massacre enemies, he wreaks havoc in hand-to-hand combat. Additionally, to eliminate multiple enemies from a distance, he has a Teppo flintlock rifle.

Each offers different skills, allowing you to adapt your play style to the situation, especially since you can switch characters at any time in the open world. A little extra, to enjoy an additional detailed presentation video, you are invited to visit Ubisoft's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjAzNpMYTxw) ensuring you are logged in with an account and meeting the age requirement to view the media.

A well-stocked collector

Ubisoft is a regular. It carefully manages the release of its major games and typically offers several editions, ranging from the standard to the Collector. Fortunately, the publisher took advantage of this early month dedicated to the gaming world to unveil the contents of the Collector's Edition of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Of course, this will include a copy of the game in its Ultimate edition. This means that in addition to the base game, those who purchase it will be able to enjoy the bonus quest Left Behind (offered for any pre-order), the content delivered with the Season Pass, and a special pack including the Red Dragon filter for photo mode, a hideout pack, five skill points, and the character Sekiryū.

In addition to this, the edition includes a statue showcasing the two main characters, a SteelBook (metal case), an 84-page artbook, the tsuba of Naoe's katana (actual size), a world map, the Creed wall scroll, and two lithographs.
