Project L, the versus fighting game from Riot Games, becomes 2XKO

2XKO
League of LegendsFeb 24, 20241 min read

Revealed in 2019 under the code name Project L, the fighting game from Riot Games set in the universe of League of Legends was then in the state of a simple project. At the end of 2021, after two years of waiting, Tom Cannon, the game's director and executive producer, left a message on the studio's website to indicate that there should be no expectation of a release in 2021 or 2022, as the title was in its research and development phase. After more than two years of radio silence, Riot Games reconnects to provide updates.

Don't call it Project L anymore but 2XKO

For its big return under the spotlight, the 2v2 tag-team style fighting game gets a new name. So forget Project L, the title is now called 2XKO. We will still have to be patient before playing it as the official release is set for a vague 2025. Good news, PC players will not be the only ones to enjoy it, as 2XKO will also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The most impatient people can note that playable demos will be offered worldwide, with the title making its debut in April 2024 during Evo Japan. While waiting to learn more about the gameplay system of this free-to-play, we can already note the presence of four characters from the universe of League of Legends, namely Darius, Ekko, Ahri, and Yasuo.
