Hello everyone, hello to all here Quill from the Metropolis Chronicle for your gaming news bulletin. Cheating is THE thing that can really ruin a gaming experience. Unfortunately, we passionate players are often faced with unscrupulous people who do not play out of passion but out of greed. The developers of Rainbow Six Siege understood this well and decided to take the bull by the horns. Indeed, it was in an article posted on their official blog two days ago that Ubisoft published a summary of all the anti-cheat measures taken during the year 2020.

Indeed, all online multiplayer games, without exception, are targeted by cheaters who use many techniques to skew results and/or gain illicit advantages in the game. And fighting this cheating on a daily basis is a titanic task. Because as soon as countermeasures are found, cheaters come up with new schemes. Ubisoft and many other publishers (notably Activision) are working on several fronts. Improving the detection of cheaters, strengthening security measures, and massively reducing the impact these cheaters have.

In 2020, Ubisoft banned no less than 90,000 accounts, including more than 10,000 just in the month of April of the same year. While this number remains impressive, we are far from the 300,000 bans recorded since March 2020 on Call of Duty Warzone. In August 2020, the French publisher also implemented a new anti-cheat system based on the collection and study of player data, which, combined with the actions of its anti-cheat software BattlEye, resulted in an increase of more than 52% in the number of bans in 2020 compared to the previous year.

You can find all the measures implemented by Ubisoft directly by clicking here.

Let's remember here that all publishers, including Ubisoft, work every day to ensure that honest players can enjoy the best gaming experience possible. Let's praise and encourage the dedicated teams. That's all for today, but we'll be back very soon for a new gaming news bulletin. This was Quill wishing you a good day in Metropolis.
